Soul Seeker R is Going Live Tonight
- Soul Seeker R, a hack-and-slash adventure by Clegames, inc., has been released in English for Android
- Despite its high production value, the game seems to be a rehash of previous content and somewhat stingy with the gacha rates. It will need some major updating to stand out in today's market.
Third Time's The Charm
The Hero collector game Soul Seeker originally came out in 2015 and was beloved by the community for three years. Earlier this year, Termination Notices were sent out, and eventually the game's service was shut down.
A sequel known as Soul Seeker: Six Knights came out in October 2018 however, and remains active to this day. Still, fans of the classic gameplay missed the original, hence the English launch of Soul Seeker R. With R standing for Revival, this game updates the engine for new players.
Gameplay
Graphics are polished and well-done, but also slightly dated in a way that's reminiscent of Onmyoji. 3D Models are more detailed than those in Dragalia Lost, while the UI invokes a standard MMO feel.

Still, it's worth a try with polished and smooth gameplay (described as such in a review by Scion Storm)
Reception on the r/gachagaming subreddit was overall negative however, which only points to the strong competition mobile titles face. With such a variety of games out there-- each with unique combat systems, updated visuals, and generous gachas-- it seems that Soul Seeker offers little outside nostalgia.

The last time I played Soul Seeker, their premium currency system was insane. The really important currency was rubies and you get what, 3 per day? And you need a few thousands of them to do anything meaningful.
It was awful.
U need at least 2 hours grinding to get 900 gems for 10 rolls. 0.5% chance to get nat5. Too stingy for a gacha game. :/
How To Play
Soul Seeker R is actually under launch maintenance at the moment, with about five hours left until the game opens. Until then, it can be downloaded for Android on the Google Play store or QooApp for emulator users.
For tips and info, a New User Guide from the original Soul Seeker subreddit is a good start-- some things may have changed, but the core gameplay remains the same between versions.
