Tales of Crestoria Receives English Trailer, Likely Set for 2020 Release

Tales of Crestoria
  • New English trailer for upcoming Tales of Crestoria provides some worldbuilding and sneak peeks at appearances from prior Tales characters like Cress, Velvet, Mint, and Leon, among others

While fans of the long-running Tales series wait for the upcoming Tales of Arise, set to hit consoles and PC next year, there has been a bit of a buzz around the next entry - the mobile gacha game Tales of Crestoria. As previously reported, in October, Bandai Namco uploaded a video in which producer Tomomi Togawa regretfully explained that Crestoria would not be meeting its initially planned 2019 release in the West.

However, in happier news, Bandai Namco released a new trailer yesterday, featuring English narration and showing off some of the worldbuilding for the new game, as well as a peek at the summoning system and, enticingly, several returning characters from prior Tales games, like Phantasia's energetic protagonist Cress and his ally Mint, Berseria's moody star Velvet, and Destiny's brooding swordsman Leon. The combat footage is more or less the same as in our previous coverage, but it still paints an optimistic picture, with some fans discussing the well-done models and comparing them favorably even to Berseria's.

Though no definite release date has been announced, based on Ms. Togawa's video announcement, we project a mid-year 2020 release for the game barring further delays.
