Limited Time Elevated Threat Kit

Overview

The Elevated Threat Kit is a bundle in the Featured tab of Diagon Alley. The bundle will show up in your store exactly when your account is 8 days old, and lasts exactly 48 hours from that point. Once your account is 10 days old, the bundle will disappear. If your account is more than 10 days old, it seems that the Elevated Threat Kit will not show up in the store, but this is not yet fully confirmed.

The kit costs $9.99, and the contents are as follows:

x 900

What's in the Kit?

Gold is the premium currency in Wizards Unite, rarely given out in large amounts, and serves as a Swiss Army knife for almost any other task in the game, plus buying things from Diagon Alley. It is useful in more or less every context in the game.

Dark Detectors are handy items that can be placed in Inns, and serve to increase the spawn rate of Traces nearby. Both the chance of a Trace spawning and the chance of that Trace being a high rarity are increased. These items are one of the best ways to get Severe and Emergency threat level Foundables to spawn.

Dawdle Draughts are unique utility Potions that lower the likelihood of a Confoundable fleeing with the Foundable in tow. When you encounter that perfect high-rarity Foundable you need to complete a Registry Page, you don't want it to run away, and these handy Potions are just the trick. A great item to have in stock.

Potent Exstimulo Potions have high ingredient costs and take quite a while to brew (8 hours) but they're one of the most handy items in both Wizarding Challenges and Trace Encounters, especially when going up against high threat level Foundables. You can never go wrong having more of these in hand.

Value in Gold

900 Gold alone costs $9.99 at Gringotts. Therefore, if you were ever planning to buy Gold in the game, this bundle would represent a good deal due to basically handing in all the other items for free. Looking past that, though, the 6 Dark Detectors can be priced to a 560 Gold value by comparing them to the 15 for 1400 bundle in the shop. Potent Exstimulo Potions can be bought for 75 Gold a pop as well, meaning that between those two alone you're saving 1,010 Gold. Considering that Dawdle Draughts cannot be bought and may be difficult to brew if you're missing key ingredients, the overall Gold value for this bundle is at least 200% efficient

Conclusion

Due to the fantastic value for return, the items in question all being useful at the least, and the universal applicability of Gold, this bundle is a steal in terms of in-game value. The only question is whether you were planning to spend real money for Gold in the game. If you were, we recommend the Elevated Threat Kit wholeheartedly.

If you weren't planning on spending, though, and need a rare or specific reason to dip into the bank, this bundle doesn't bring anything that can't be gotten through normal gameplay. No player customization, no limited-time exclusives, nothing. You can skip it and know that in time you'll be able to get everything included with the Elevated Threat Kit over the course of playing the game normally.

Now you know what's on offer - the rest is up to you to decide!
