“You must be wondering "What's up with my getup", right? Don't worry, I'm of the same opinion.”

Bikinis, whether armor or swimsuits, are supposed to provide both support and coverage. Zenobia’s, however, does not. What she does do is act as a strong Arts AoE Damage Dealing Archer with incredible critical capacity and loop potential.

Zenobia is plainly and simply a woman with strong sustained damage. For one, she is capable of looping thanks to Augusta Assumption B, even when a player is otherwise free to play. For another, she’s self-reliant with both a Guts and Crit star generation buff on Aurelianus's Siege (Resist) A, while still acting supportive with the party up and Crit resist on Glory to Palmyra A. But her real strength comes from the overcharge effect on her noble phantasm, Authentic Triumph A+ which boosts her Crit rate for three turns and stacks!

She is not without her downsides, of course. She is for one rather squishy, relying on a small Guts for hard survival. She also fails to possess a self-battery, making her reliant on supports to function well. Her burst damage is also a bit on the lower side of things for Archers.

She is still a powerful Servant, and definitely one a Master will want where Critical hits may make a difference in a fight. Let’s just hope Masters aren’t too busy staring elsewhere!

Arts Looping

With a 20% boost to her NP gauge every turn and a small Arts buff, Zenobia is able to safely loop against most standard 3-enemy Saber nodes with a traditional double Castoria setup with a Black Grail. The numbers are not perfect so she does benefit from having a maximize append skill 2 to allow for a wider range of Saber HPs she can work against. However, as her charge is a 20% per turn instead of instant, she can also manage to loop with free to play Servants such as Paracelsus and a backline Boudica, using a support Castoria and a 50% starting CE.

Supereffective Damage

Zenobia’s Noble Phantasm has an extra trait to deal Supereffective damage against King trait enemies. This covers a huge number of Servants, meaning she very likely will be effective in third waves where Servants most commonly appear.

Critical Damage

The main issue with the Castoria meta as opposed to Quick and Buster was how it was entirely Noble Phantasm oriented and dropped the massive Critical Hits found in the others. By looping her Noble Phantasm, a critical hit on the 3rd round has a massive 150% Critical damage bonus, and if they are Arts cards, watch out! Not only that, her first skill serves as a star generator, and her second a starbomb and a forced gather to herself. She’ll have the Crits to deal and the damage to deal them with.

Guts can be a rather effective tool for survival, but Zenobia’s is on a fairly long cooldown and has a low HP number for revival. Bikini armor can only be so effective!

Support Reliant

Without proper supports, it is hard to get Zenobia truly going. Her Critical damage may work after a Noble Phantasm for a bit, but it’ll lack the steroids to make her fearsome.

Poor Noble Phantasm Damage

With no passives to help her and only a small Attack and Arts up boost of her own, Zenobia has one of the least damaging Noble Phantasms of all Archers, including low rarity ones. While it is sufficient while properly buffed, it may leave Masters wanting for more. She more than makes up for it with crits.

Zenobia is typically used by generating gauge, firing a Noble Phantasm, and then striking enemies down with crits. Masters will typically use her first skill to start this process, creating the star and Noble Phantasm gauge cycle, and then gather it all to herself with her second skill. Her third skill, while helpful, is rather vanilla. Suggested order is 1 > 3 > 2.

  • Augusta Assumption B is by far Zenobia’s more crucial skill, giving her the Arts up to loop, the NP gain per turn to fill what’s missing, and Stars each turn to enable her Critical hits. While it has a long cooldown, most Masters will find it trivial as they will be using her in three turn setups. Masters typically pop this immediately to start their loop shenanigans. Level this first and to max, it scales the NP gain per turn.
  • Aurelianus's Siege (Resist) A provides Zenobia with a large number of stars immediately, as well as giving her a Guts and a strong increase to gather rate to practically guarantee the stars are hers to use. Masters typically want to save this skill until the turn Zenobia is ready to unleash her Criticals (typically wave 3) so they can give her all the stars she needs to guarantee a crit. With skill 1 activated, this will be 30 stars worth! This can be leveled last and left at level 6 if lacking materials.
  • Glory to Palmyra A is Zenobia’s small support, giving a partywide Attack boost and lowering the chance they are attacked by Criticals. The shame of this skill is it is party and not self, as she could benefit from a large self steroid here instead of wasting it on supports. She’ll almost always use this on turn one to boost her three-turn damage, and the Critical resist is mostly useless. This can be leveled second to level 9 if Masters lack materials.

Craft Essence Recommendation

Zenobia is practically always used for looping, so the CEs depend on what supports a Master has. If planning to use a double Castoria setup, NP Damage Up CEs are a must. A free to play setup with a borrowed Castoria requires a Mixed Starting NP Gauge / Damage CE to work. For anyone not looping, general Starting NP Gauge CEs work best.

  • The Black Grail: As the standard for Arts loop comps, a Black Grail is a no-doubt fixture for Zenobia. It provides the maximum damage gain possible per turn with a trivial demerit for farming.
  • Holy Night Supper / Ocean Flier / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Magical Girl of Sapphire: If a Master wants to play free, a composition of Paracelsus, support Castoria, and a backline Boudica will generate enough gauge per turn to still loop against Sabers. But without a Castoria of her own, she lacks 50% of the Starting charge and needs to add more through a CE. With a MLB Magical Girl of Sapphire, it is possible to only need a Paracelsus and support Castoria for this setup at the cost of even more damage. This composition just barely works, so Magical Girl of Sapphire may be the only option available.
  • Kaleidoscope / The Imaginary Element / Dragon’s Meridian: Some Masters only need a quick Noble Phantasm or two from Zenobia. Giving her a CE to simply have a starting charge is oftentimes enough to get what they need for early access.

Gameplay Tips

Zenobia’s looping is not quite as easy as some others due to a generally low NP gain rate compared to the number of hits she has. The most effective way is to level her A2 skill to max and use a fragment of 2004 Mystic code. Turn one give her all buffs except one of Castoria’s NP gain buffs (2nd skill). This will lower her output to 60%, with a 20% charge after for 80%. Then give her that buff to reach 100% as well as the mystic code’s ability to easily hit 100% for the final wave.

Character Info

A third-century queen who ruled the Palmyrene Empire (kingdom) that was located near present day Syria. Palmyrene was under the Roman Empire's control, but it expanded its territory by invading countries like Egypt. Zenobia, who actually held power, bestowed the title of emperor upon her son and began their rebellion against the Roman Empire.

However, when the militant emperor Aurelian ascended the Roman throne and began a series of conquests to restore Rome's glory, the Palmyrene Empire collapsed, and Zenobia was captured. During Aurelian's triumph, Zenobia was humiliated by being forced to parade through the city of Rome wearing dazzling golden shackles, chains, and jewels. Following this, Zenobia's fate is uncertain. Some say she died, while some say she lived happily as an ordinary Roman citizen...

Profile 1

Height/Weight: 175cm, 60kg
Origin: History
Region: Palmyra
Alignment: Lawful-Good
Gender: Female
A chaste woman with a minor weakness for love stories. Her attire is proof positive that one's decisions about how much skin to reveal reflect not at all on one's moral character.

Profile 2

The queen of the Palmyrene Empire, which was a third century kingdom located near Syria during the reign of Rome's militaristic emperor, Aurelian. She was known as both the bravest woman warrior in the Eastern world, and one of its greatest beauties. She also spoke several languages, was well-versed in academics, trained her body to physical perfection, and enjoyed horseback riding and hunting. It was for these qualities that she came to be known as the wise and powerful queen who stood behind her husband, Palmyra's ruler. However, following her husband's death at the hands of relatives, she assumed the throne in his place.

Palmyra was once part of the Roman empire, but it built up its army and declared independence while Rome was preoccupied with a number of difficulties across the entirety of the empire. At one point, Palmyra managed to claim control of Syria, Arabia, Egypt, and more, greatly expanding her domain. However, she and her army eventually fell in a campaign personally led by Emperor Aurelian, which put an end to Palmyra's resistance. Zenobia was then forced to wear golden chains and jewels, only to be paraded around Rome in a public spectacle of humiliation during which she was forced to walk ahead of Aurelian's carriage as part of his victory procession.

Profile 3

She will never forget her defeat at Aurelian's hands, nor the humiliation she suffered when he paraded her around Rome like some kind of living trophy. Neither will she forget the weight of the gold chains, the pain of the golden shackles, or the shameful glittering of the jewels she was forced to wear. Some claim that, terrified, she begged for her life at her trial, though none can confirm this.

As a Servant, she exists to redress the matter of the humiliation she suffered in life. No matter how unreliable the reports, or how unclear her own memories may be, she cannot countenance the notion of anyone believing that the Queen of the East begged for her life.

Rather than pretending her humiliating defeat never happened, she has materialized in the very attire fashioned for her humiliation, that she might overcome all it represents. Now that she is a Servant, the time considered her prime is the moment she cast her humiliation aside and died as a truly valiant warrior. She understands that if she had materialized as her pre-defeat warrior queen self, she would constantly be subjected to looks of disdain from those who knew what fate awaited her.

"She might look proud now, but she's just going to end up broken and humiliated, right?"

Any Zenobia forced to hear such things said about her could never be her true self. And so, her degrading attire serves to proclaim to all around her that it will take more than that to break her spirit, that even clad in golden chains and shackles, she will never submit. To anyone. Ever. And so, while her garments may be humiliating, her eyes—the eyes of a true queen—remain proud and resolute.

Profile 4

Augusta Assumption: B
A skill that demonstrates why Zenobia and her son proclaimed themselves co-emperors. She bestowed the title "Augustus"—the highest honor in the Roman empire, typically afforded only to the emperor himself—upon her son, while also taking the title "Augusta," the feminine form of "Augustus" typically used for the emperor's mother ow wife, for herself. This was not done out of a secret desire to assume rulership of Rome for herself. Instead, it is believed she did this as a show of strength and as a way to mock the Romans by proclaiming herself and her son more fit to rule their empire (and by extension, the world) than they were.

Consequently, using this skill will never imbue her with Roman attributes.

Profile 5

Aurelian's Siege (Resist): A
It was Aurelian personally leading the siege against Palmyra that resulted in Zenobia being taken prisoner. Thus, this skill indicates Zenobia and her army's fierce defiance of the Romans, even up to the moment of their capture.

Glory to Palmyra: A
A skill that demonstrates Zenobia's expertise in running a nation, thanks to both her excellent mind and superior strength. Indeed, it was these very qualities that enabled Palmyra to flourish under her rule. As an oasis city located in the desert of Syria, Palmyra was a key point for caravans coming and going. It is said that at its peak, Palmyra ruled over all of Syria, Arabia, and Egypt alike.

Profile 6

[Authentic Triumph]
Rank: A+
NP Type: Self-Targeted
Range: 0
Maximum Targets: 1

Shatter, Golden Chains and Humiliation.
This Noble Phantasm's True Name can only be released when Zenobia truly feels that she has proven herself to be the ideal queen, or when she feels she can prove as much in battle. If she doubts herself, even the slightest bit, it will fail. By channeling every bit of her magical energy, mental energy, willpower, determination, anger, and pride, Zenobia shatters the golden shackles and chains that are deeply tied to her Servant Spirit Origin and transforms into the hypothetical version of herself she always wished to be: a Queen of the East who shook off the defeat and humiliation she suffered at Aurelian's hands and achieved victory over the Roman empire.

Rather than physically releasing her body, it enables Zenobia's mind to escape her tainted past, not unlike a conceptual substitution which overwrites the possibility of the flawed, imperfect Zenobia who may have begged for her life in terror from her Servant self, temporarily replacing her very existence with her ideal, perfect self.

When this Noble Phantasm's True Name is released, it boosts all of Zenobia's stats to an astonishing degree.

I see no point if these disgraceful shackles still confine me, but I shall let that be for now.
Ascension 2 I just want to make this clear: I feel no shame whatsoever at my appearance. It is the very essence of my being to demonstrate that I can endure anything and everything placed upon me, and that I can make even those burdens into my power.
And so...
Quit gawking at me.
Ascension 3 This appearance has further made me confront the truth of my reality: I am a queen, but I was also defeated.
Heh. You needn't look at me like that. If this form proves that I have grown stronger, then it must be true.
My goal and the obstacles to it have become all the clearer now. My resolve is stronger than ever.
Ascension 4 You have truly amusing insight...
Though I come before you in these shameful shackles, you still believe in my strength and victory.
Ah... That must be the reason I have come so far.
No nobility, dignity, or power could match the quality of your acumen...
And so, what am about to tell you comes not from the Queen of Palmyra, but simply from Zenobia:
...Thank you. I have happened upon a truly wonderful Master.
Bond Level 1 My wish is to be rid of the disgrace that clings to me. Do not forget that.
Bond Level 2 My appearance is obviously something I would not be proud of. However, I am not trying to grit my teeth and endure through this shameful appearance either...this is an issue beyond that.
This is the reality that I must overcome.
Truly proud and brave warriors never dare to conceal the wounds of defeat they sustained from battle, nor would they avert their eyes from it. That is what I mean.
Bond Level 3 You may think of me as just a crude and uncouth warrior, but I also believe chastity is important.
Unnecessarily coming into contact with the opposite sex and wearing exposing clothing is...well, that is no good. I know how that sounds, but still!
Bond Level 4 I hear that some believe I had begged for my life after being defeated and lived as a Roman citizen afterwards. I actually do not remember. My memory only lasts up to the point where I was paraded around in these golden shackles and chains. I can only think that I had died from sheer disgrace and heart and soul, that is.
Bond Level 5 I wouldn't have minded if history simply fabricated that I had denounced Palmyra. However, I cannot stand to learn that some believe I shamefully lived a long life afterwards. I would like to wholeheartedly deny that possibility. I want to believe that I continued to fight and maintained myself as a warrior queen until the end, and that I rid myself of any disgrace from my name.
That's why I implore you to let me fight. Let me fight so that I can assure myself that I never succumbed to the humiliation from Rome. Let me fight proud battles. That doesn't sound like a bad offer, now does it?
The time when I am able to shake off these repulsive golden shackles will surely also be the time when victory comes to you as well. That moment shall be a glorious one...more dazzling than this grotesque gold, for sure.
Conversation 1 It feels like I've been cooped up in this room for a long time...surely we're not missing an opportunity to march out for battle, are we?
You must be vigilant.
Conversation 2 I am the queen of a defeated army.
But that is exactly why there are things that can be done now. There is an unwavering will and a wish to be granted.
All I ask from you is that you believe in these things...
Conversation 3 Augustus is the name the Roman emperor used, but the word comes from Latin, meaning "one with dignity, magnificent."
That is why I believed those who were worthy had the right to call themselves Augustus. And it is why I had my son use that title...
And so, I believe you are the Augustus of Chaldea, Master.
Conversation 4 (Nero Claudius, Nero (Bride), Nero (Caster), Caesar, Romulus, Romulus=Quirinus, Caligula) Hmph. There are quite a lot of Romans around here.
I just hope they are not so weak as Valerian or foolish as Gallienus...
Conversation 5 (Spartacus) Is that...Spartacus the gladiator!?
He is the greatest warrior one could wish for! I wonder if he would join our army?
Conversation 6 (Minamoto-no-Raikou (Lancer)) The shadow prefect...?
Ah, it is very important to have someone to maintain the standards of decency and morality in a nation or army. If there is anything I can do to hel―
Wait. She is charging towards me with such intensity! Why!?
Conversation 7 (Cleopatra) I admire Cleopatra VII very much.
I am not sure about the details, but I have heard it said that I may be a descendant of hers somehow.
What? She's here?
W-wait a minute...I am not mentally prepared to meet her!
Likes Do you know what dates are? They're a type of fruit from the palm trees that grew in abundance in Palmyra. They're sweet and delicious.
Dislikes Things I dislike?
Foolish and incompetent Roman emperors. That is why we rose up against them, thinking things would have been better had we ruled ourselves.
About the Holy Grail The Holy Grail, which possesses incredible power...
Had it been in my possession, perhaps Palmyra might have been able to defeat Rome...
During an Event I may be called a warrior queen, but that does not mean fighting is constantly on my mind...
...especially should some sort of festival be occurring.
Go, enjoy those things which can only be experienced in moments like this.
Birthday So today is the day Chaldea's Augustus was born...
Then we must hold a lavish birthday celebration.
Summon I am Queen Zenobia of Palmyra. I am an Archer.
...You must be wondering what I am wearing.
It is all right; I too wonder the same.
It should not, however, be an issue. There is nothing to be done.
Ignore these shackles as well. Even in this state, my ability to fight is unimpeded.
This is likely the very reason I have been summoned here to begin with.
