PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Rollout is the strongest Fast Move that Dunsparce can muster, and it pairs best with Rock Slide.
  • If you're desperate for Ground Type damage output, then Drill Run is your best option... using the term best extremely liberally here.
  • Bite can at least somewhat work if you want neutral damage to pair with Drill Run....? Maybe?
  • Dig and Astonish aren't worth using... and that's really saying something.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Rollout is, again, the best Fast Move Option. Astonish is the second pick due to its higher base power, and Bite is... okay.
  • Dig comes out on top this time due to its superior defensive stats.
  • Rock Slide is okay too.
  • On defense, Drill Run is inferior to Dig.

PVE Overview

...you honestly want to see how Dunsparce does in PvE? Seriously? Okay, let's get this over with, I guess...

Dunsparce is a meme of a Pokemon that has no redeeming qualities as a PvE Pokemon. It's a funny little guy who exists, and... that's literally it. his poor thing isn't really even viable in Tier 1 raids, and It's even's not even a speed-bump on Defense.

Please don't invest in Dunsparce... please...

PvP Moveset Explanation

Rollout + Rock Slide and Drill Run

The addition of Rollout from the September 2022 update gives Dunsparce a useable Fast Move for PvP, with high energy gains and synergy with its Charge Moves. Bite focuses on Dark-type damage and lacks energy generation and synergy, while Astonish is just a bad move overall.

Rock Slide and Drill Run are very good Charge Moves that cost moderate amounts of energy and offers good damage. Combined, they provide perfect coverage, allowing Dunsparce to hit every Pokemon in the game for at least neutral damage. Dig is a terrible move.

PvP Rating Explanation

Great League: 3.5 / 5

In this league, Dunsparce sports good stats for bulk, while only worrying about one weakness due to its Normal typing. Rollout gives Dunspace the energy it needs to access its perfect coverage Charge Moves, though the lack of STAB results in less damage output than more dedicated roles. Strong neutral opponents like Azumarill, Skarmory, and Umbreon tend to have an advantage over Dunspace due to STAB. Overall Dunspace isn't the most impressive Pokemon in the meta, but at least now it can have a niche in specific formats or as a generalist in the open format.

Ultra League: 0 / 5

Capping out at 1689 CP, Dunsparce can’t really compete in Ultra League.

Master League: 0 / 5

Dunsparce fails to be able to beat any relevant Pokémon in Master League. Please don’t use it here.
