PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Zen Headbutt and Future Sight give Shadow Reuniclus its strongest offensive moveset.
  • Hidden Power is inferior, even if it's Psychic type.
  • Shadow Ball and Thunder both fall short.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Hidden Power is the defensive fast move of choice, especially if it has a type advantage over Shadow Reuniclus' counters in Dark, Ghost, Steel, and other Psychic Types.
  • Zen Headbutt isn't bad, but it's generally inferior.
  • Shadow Ball has high power, great neutral coverage, and comes out frequently
  • Thunder is the move of choice when defending against most Dark types, but it takes a lot of energy to launch.
  • Future Sight has very few advantages for Shadow Reuniclus on defense, and should be TMed.

PVE Overview

Shadow Reuniclus has definitely improved in terms of raw power when compared to its basic forme, but it still only sits right around Gardevoir in terms of Psychic performance.

PvP Moveset Explanation

Hidden Power + Shadow Ball and Thunder or Future Sight

Hidden Power is superior to Zen Headbutt, and can also surprise opponents with its unpredictable typing.

Shadow Ball costs the least amount of energy, deals considerable damage, and provides coverage against Ghost-types, in addition to relatively neutral coverage. Thunder provides additional coverage and costs slightly less energy than Future Sight, while the latter benefits from STAB.

PvP Rating Explanation

Great League: 1 / 5

Reuniclus sports slightly below-average bulk as a Psychic-type, but suffers severely from a very cumbersome moveset. Poor energy generation and costly charge moves results in very poor shield pressure, with most meta fights resulting in Reuniclus only using one charge move and consequently losing 1-shield matchups. Unless matchups are highly favorable for its Hidden Power typing, Reuniclus is unlikely able to perform well.

Ultra League: 1 / 5

The performance of Reuniclus in Ultra League very similarly resembles its performance in Great League. Shielded matchups are only slightly favorable if Hidden Power's typing is favorable, otherwise Reuniclus stands to lose against most meta Pokemon.

Master League: 0 / 5

Reuniclus would appreciate more stats to compete with the major competitors in Master League. More importantly, an improved moveset would be significantly more valuable.
