Introduction

We welcome guest writer, Agent Allosaurus, here to seek your help in coming up with future article ideas.

Greetings to all explorers, I hope everyone’s having a good time. You may be wondering, why am I here if there isn't a specific topic on the meta or anything else? Well, I believe the title is self-explanatory, but behind the scenes I have hesitated and scrapped this article over and over again. I am grateful that this can be published before the end of the year. Without further ado, let me explain the purpose of this community article.

Behind the Scenes

Let’s start with a humble story: Back in March, I reconstructed a comparison between the differences of Aenocyonyx and Indolycan in terms of PvPs and raids in the GamePress Discord server, and it caught our dear moderators’ attention. With their invitation to join their writing team, I was delighted to accept their offer and soon began my writing career on this server. Not only did this opportunity allow me to improve my writing and communication skills over time, but it also allowed me to learn more from our helpful server members. So before I move on, I want to say a big thank you and give a token of appreciation to all those who have contributed on my way to being what I am today.

From behind the scenes, creating a community article is no easy task. As the word ‘community’ suggests, the articles I publish are mainly voices heard and responses by the community members as well as my own opinions. To determine what topic I will be covering, I sometimes ask the head moderators for opinions and feedback, take note of the latest trends of discussion amongst our server members, and provide my own inspiration on some creative ideas as well. Although I appreciate those who acknowledge my work on certain topics, I’d also expect some criticism from those who disagree with my works. I don’t really mind criticisms, but if it gets way too intense (which hopefully has not happened) I would take a reminder and would like to state that: Please don’t take compliments too seriously.

Now, a total of six community articles have been made throughout 2023. (With one being planned to be published before Christmas, so that counts seven.) It’s a long milestone for sure, and with that being settled and we’re moving on to a new chapter, this is the perfect time for me to make an announcement:

If the community is active enough to support the continuation of these community articles, I’d like to move on from thinking of article suggestions myself to taking your suggestions for the next year.

What’s With this Announcement?

Why am I saying this you may ask? This is the point I’ve been thinking about for a long time. As mentioned above, the word ‘community’ means by having something be not only from a few individuals, but rather from the listeners’ or the readers’ opinions. Not because I’m tired of thinking of something to entertain the server, but I because I believe that the whole server should have their own choices to make the community a better place. Below this section I will present two methods for you to submit your lovely suggestions, and who knows? Maybe one day you’ll see your own request being published! For those who are worried about problems of whether you will be credited or not, don’t worry, an optional shoutout will be featured of who suggested the article depending on whether you would like to do so or not. With this decision being made, there will be a hiatus on new community articles until April 2024, as there needs to be enough time to discuss your ideas with the moderators and prioritize which ideas will be published.

How to Submit Your Requests

I have created a Google form for you to submit your community article requests. It will require your username, but that will enable me to take note of who submitted the form so I can message you if your suggestion gets picked and/or would like to discuss further if you wish to do so.

Parting Words

As far as this article goes, I believe that everyone here has the ability to pick what's next in the future of new community articles. I will do my best on writing the next article, and I believe it may even exceed your expectations. Stay tuned in December for the next community article and happy playing for the spooky season!
