Introduction and Tournament Information

(NOTE – At the time of writing, this article’s information was announced as the following and was prepared as this week was originally intended to run. Don't forget to look at the whole article!! Don't want you missing on anything now do we!)

Hello everyone. My name is Lucus1355 from the GamePress JWA Discord, and I'm here to talk to you about the upcoming Skill Tournament this weekend! We will be seeing the Non-Hybrid Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Omega Creatures going head to head in the Fairground Arena!!

This weekend is the First in the Concatosaurus Alliance Championship with COINS as the reward!!:

Coins: Mainly used to fuse hybrid DNA, enhance and level up creatures.

(Coins: Mainly used to Create, Evolve and Fuse Creatures.)

Players will have FOUR creatures each and first to defeat THREE of the opponents creature's will win. If both are defeated, then it's a draw.

All creatures will be set to LEVEL 26 and Creatures are RESTRICTED TO NON-HYBRIDS ONLY!!

So 43 Common, 69 Rare, 63 Epic, 6 Legendary and 26 Omega Creatures at your disposal.

(Disclaimer: As this tournament format will allow Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Omega Creatures to be used, it is most likely that players teams will most likely be full of Legendary and Omega Creatures, with a few Epic Creatures thrown in. However, not everyone will be able to have that kind of team, may not want to use certain creatures like Omegas, or just use personal favourites. Please keep this in mind.)

Omega Creatures

Basic Info

Bar the Abilities and Resistances that Omega Creatures have upon their Creation, the usual rule is that they obtain their Abilities, and sometimes more Resistances every 5 Levels; so, at Level 6, Level 11, Level 16 and Level 21.

However, in Skill Tournaments, Omegas are only allowed to use their Abilities and Resistances that they have unlocked, and only those Abilities and Resistances that coincide with the Highest Rarity in that Skill Tournament, excluding Omegas.

For example, in a Rare, Epic and Omega Skill Tournament, Epic Creatures are the Highest Rarity, and so when they are created are Level 11, so Omega Creatures would only be able to use their Abilities and Resistances that are Unlocked at Level 11 or below.

As this is a Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Omega Tournament, the Highest Rarity, excluding the Omegas are of course the Legendary Class. This means that Omegas can use all of their Abilities and Resistances at Level 16 and under providing, of course that they have been unlocked. Furthermore, all Omega Creatures for this tournament are eligible.

Online Info

If you'd like more info on Omega Creatures, we have several links here about Omega Creatures for you with the Newest ones at the top:

Training Points

For an Omega Creature in a Skill Tournament, any unused Training Points on said creature will be temporarily applied to the Omega Creatures Stats. Furthermore, if an Omega Creature is weaker than Level 26, then the Training Points received between their current Level and Level 26, will be temporarily applied to the Omega Creatures Stats in the same way. Both are explained in the 'Omega Training In Skill Tournaments' (above), and the video 'Skill Tournaments. The Definitive Guide. Jurassic World Alive' (also above).

It is always recommended to see how the Training Points are distributed as you do not have to use ALL your Training Points on an Omega Creature. You may find that adding a few Training Points to a stat or 2 is enough to get the Stat amount you wanted on the Omega Creature after the unused Training Points are temporarily applied to that Omega Creatures Stats.

A good way to get an approximation of what an Omega Creature's stats may look like when they all get 'temporarily applied' is by going to the Paleo JWA Toolbox website and selecting the Omega Creature you want to look at by clicking on its image or name. Once you're on that creatures page, you can just click on 'Preset Points' which should give you an approximation of what 'temporarily applied' would look like on that Omega Creature's stats in a Skill Tournament (example below).

'Unlockables'

As mentioned previously, Omega Creatures in Skill Tournaments, are only allowed to use Abilities and Resistances that they have unlocked, and only those Abilities and Resistances that coincide with the Highest Rarity in that Skill Tournament, excluding of course, Omegas. As this is a Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Omega Tournament, the Highest Rarity, excluding the Omegas are of course the Legendary Class. This means that Omegas can use all of their Abilities and Resistances at Level 16 and below providing, of course that they've been unlocked.

It is usually thought that in Skill Tournaments, Omega Creatures, should have 'Unlockables' Unlocked coinciding with the Highest Rarity in that Skill Tournament. With Legendary being that 'Highest Rarity', if you're thinking of using an Omega Creature, I would advised that most, if not all have all have their Abilities and Resistances Unlocked to stand the best chance against the opposition. But, you may find that not all Omega Creatures have to have all those Abilities and Resistances unlocked, as some of them can still do well without all their 'Unlockables' available for the tournament battles.

Below are all the Omegas and at what Level they unlock all their Abilities and Resistances:

Reliability

When it comes to Omegas in Skill Tournaments, depending on the Highest Rarity in that Tournament, can depend on the reliability of each of the Omega Creatures themselves. This is a rough Tier List of each Omega Creature with their approximate overall reliability across the Skill Tournaments' Formats; Types, Restrictions and Rarity's:

With this in mind, thanks to IDGT902, we can also get a decent idea from watching his video of his OMEGA TIER LIST - The Best Creatures to Use in Every Tournament!

(This video is PRE-VERSION 3.6 and so does not include newer Omega Creatures or account for those that had a Buff or Nerf POST-VERSION 3.5)

Of course, watching others in the Tournament and seeing what they're using, is also a good way to see which Omega Creatures are most reliable for that Tournament.

Omega Combat

It is common knowledge that the lower the rarity of the tournament, the chances are Omega Creatures will be being used more and more and more. So, how should we go about facing these OPC's (Omega Powered Creatures) in Skill Tournaments?

A good start at facing an Omega Creature is by understanding the basics:

  • Taking note of the Abilities and Resistances that they have unlocked, remembering that they will only be able to use those Abilities and Resistances that coincide with the Highest Rarity in that Skill Tournament. So, can it set up Dodge or Cloak? Can it Increase its Armour or gain Shields?
  • Checking out what Resistances that Omega Creature has, which, as the point above explained, can depend on how unlocked that Omega is.
  • Seeing if it has Armour.

For instance -

When facing a Diabloceratops the basics would be that:

  • Trying to use Abilities with Stun, Swap Prevention and Vulnerability would be useless as Diabloceratops is Immune to those Effects.
  • Using Abilities with Damage Over Time and Rend would be partially effective as Diabloceratops Resists those Effects.
  • Critical Chance, Damage, Speed and Armour Reduction would be most effect on Diabloceratops as it has no resistance to those Effects.
  • It does not have a shield breaking ability and can only bypass armour with its swap inability, so you can use shields and armour against it.
  • Finally, it does have high Armour, so you would be better off using Creatures against it that have Abilities able to Break Shields and/or Bypass Armour; alternatively using Nullify to get rid of Diabloceratops' Positive Effects.

Scaring Omegas In Skill Tournaments

In a survey where players were asked as to which Creatures of each Rarity players felt were able to go toe-to-toe with Omega Creatures, be able to stand up to them and/or which Creatures that Omegas should be most afraid of in Skill Tournaments.

The results (below) show what was voted for and the most voted Creatures are at the top:
