Introduction

NOTE – At the time of writing, this article’s information was announced as the following and was prepared as this week was originally intended to run.

Hello everyone and welcome to the “Tournament Talk” with Lucus1355 from the ‘GamePress JWA’ Discord.

This week’s tournament is the First in the Five Week - Nomingia Alliance Championship!!

Also, check out the newer section at the end of this featured article, which is also found in the Weekly Events Article every week!!

Tournament Format and Rewards

These battles will be 4 on 4 full tournament matches. Whoever defeats 3 of their opponents 4 creatures will be announced the winner.

In addition, all creatures will be set to Tournament Level (26), have no Stat Boosts or Enhancements and there are no restrictions on which Common and Rare Creatures you can use. The exception here, being Omega Creatures of which there can only be 2 on your team at any one time.

In the case that both sides lose their 3rd creature in the same turn, then the bout will be declared a draw.

With all this in mind, there will be available to use:

  • 42 Common
  • 74 Rare
  • 23 Omega (only 2 per team)

(As this tournament format will allow Common, Rare and Omega Creatures to be used, it is most likely that players teams will be full or near full of Rare Creatures and 2 Omega Creatures as they will appear to dominate in this tournament. However, not everyone, like newer players will have all Omegas or possibly a full team of Rare Creatures. Plus, there are some players that may choose not to use the Omega creatures. Please keep this in mind. Thank you!!)

The rewards for this tournament being Coins:

Coins: Mainly used to fuse hybrid DNA, enhance and level up creatures.

(Coins: Mainly used to Create, Evolve and Fuse Creatures.)

Omegas

The Omega creatures abilities are mainly unlocked as they level up. However, they are only allowed to use certain abilities dependent on what rarity of creatures are being used in the tournament format and whether those abilities are unlocked or not.

For more and better explained information please go to the following links (below) to understand these Omega Creatures (Oldest First):

As this is a Common/Rare//Omega Tournament, the abilities that Omega creatures can use will be those unlocked at level 6 and below only.

If you have not spent any Training Points, they will temporarily be applied evenly to match other Level 26 Dinosaurs during the Skill Tournament.

To see an approximation of what the stats may look like, please go to the Paleo JWA Toolbox website and select your Omega Creature by clicking on its image/name. Once here, all you need to do would be to click on the 'Preset Points' which should show you an approximate example of what 'applied evenly' will look like on that Omega Creature's stats (see below).

It is recommended that Omega creatures have all their abilities unlocked up to/in line with the highest allowed rarity in a tournament. As this is a Common/Rare/Omega Tournament, all Omega Creatures' Abilities unlocked will help but may not be necessary.

However, you may find that some Omega Creatures may not have to have all their abilities unlocked, as some can still do well without all their abilities available in tournament battles.

You can vote on which Omega Creatures you feel, found, or that you expected that you could rely on most to performed best and be 'Top Tier' team selections in Skill Tournaments by clicking HERE? This will be an ongoing form where you will be able alter your answers if and when you would like to!

You can find the results of the voting by clicking HERE .

**ALL OMEGA CREATURES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT!**

(only 2 per team)

As these creatures and their mechanics are still new, along with their 'Unique' strength resistances there is no certainty to how they will actually perform, come the tournament battles against each other and other rarity creatures. However, the lower the rarity of the tournament, the more difficult it could be to beat Omega Creatures, mainly because of the 'Unique' strength resistances but also the training points spread over the stats: Health, Damage, Speed, Armour, Critical Chance and Critical Damage.

A good start at facing Omega Creatures is taking note of its resistances, as we can see that using certain creature abilities against Omega Creature's would successful, unsuccessful or halfway between. Also, its armour and whether it can break shields and/or bypass armour.

FOR EXAMPLE, using the above image of Diabloceratops from the Paleo JWA Toolbox we can see:

  • Using Stun, Swap Prevention and Vulnerability would be useless - they would have no effect on Diabloceratops, other than any damage.
  • Using Damage Over Time and Rend would only be partially useless - they would have partial effect on Diabloceratops, plus any damage.
  • Using Critical Chance, Damage, Speed and Armour Reduction would be useful - they would have the most effect on Diabloceratops on top of any damage.
  • It does not have a shield breaking ability and can only bypass armour with its swap inability - you could use shields and armour against it.
  • It does have high Armour - you would be better off using creature abilities that break shields and/or bypass armour.

Using this information and knowing what abilities Diabloceratops is able to use, you should be able to make a good choice of creature to go against it in battle.

No-Go's

Due to the tournament format, you’re likely to be using mostly Rare Creatures and 2 Omega Creatures, or all Rare Creatures. Some players may opt for some Common Creatures and lower level players may be looking to use . Whatever your level, try to stay clear of using the following creatures:

These creatures may be used to fill gaps in players teams that have not managed yet to obtain most, some or even any of the top recommended creatures or Team Fillers advised to be used in this here tournament.

Survey Says and Parting Words

Welcome to this section called 'Survey Says'. We'll be giving you a survey and then seeing what you Explorers voted for as your answer.

Last weeks article saw the 'DAWNING OF A NEW YERA' survey with the question/prompt:

"Please name the Creature you believe is ready to Celebrate coming into and the start of the New Year in Jurassic World Alive; ready to start 2024 with a bang."

Which Creature is "New Year Ready" in Jurassic World Alive? This included all creatures currently in the game right now.

With that in mind, below is 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, followed by a table of results showing all the voted Creatures, what positions they finished in and the percentage of votes that each received:

This week, we want you to tell us which Creature is the "Top Carnivore" in Jurassic World Alive. This will include all Common, Rare and Epic Creatures that are Non-Hybrids currently in the game right now.

This will be a you love the design of, is a personal favourite or would be or is a "Top Carnivore".

The results will be featured in next weeks article.

VOTE NOW FOR YOUR SAY AS TO WHICH CREATURE DESERVES A 'CARNIVOROUS COMMENDATION' !!

Hopefully that will give some of you an idea about your tournament team, but maybe you have already got your team sorted and are just doing some last-minute reading. Either way and whatever your plan, the very best of luck to you!
