Introduction

NOTE – At the time of writing, this article’s information was announced as the following and was prepared as this week was originally intended to run.

Hello everyone and welcome to the “Tournament Talk” with Lucus1355 from the ‘GamePress JWA’ Discord.

This week’s tournament is the Third in the Five Week - Nomingia Alliance Championship!!

Don't forget to look at the whole article!! Don't want you missing on anything now do we!

Tournament Format and Rewards

These battles will be 4 on 4 full tournament matches. Whoever defeats 3 of their opponents 4 creatures will be announced the winner.

In addition, all creatures will be set to Tournament Level (26), have no Stat Boosts or Enhancements and there are no restrictions on which Epic, Legendary, Uniques and Omega Creatures you can use.

Usually, in the case that both sides lose their 3rd creature in the same turn, then the bout will be declared a draw.

With all this in mind, there will be available to use:

  • 90 Epic
  • 72 Legendary
  • 57 Unique
  • 23 Omega

(As this tournament format will allow Epic, Legendary, Unique and Omega Creatures to be used, it is most likely that players teams will be full of Unique Creatures or near full as they will appear to dominate in this tournament with a few Omega Creatures. However, not everyone, like newer players will have all Omegas or possibly a full team of Unique Creatures. Plus, there are some players that may choose not to use the Omega creatures. Please keep this in mind. Thank you!!)

With the rewards for this tournament being Boosts:

Boosts: Mainly used to boost your creatures Health, Damage and Speed.

Boosts: Used to boost your Creatures Health, Damage and Speed.

Omegas

The Omega creatures abilities are mainly unlocked as they level up. However, they are only allowed to use certain abilities dependent on what rarity of creatures are being used in the tournament format and whether those abilities are unlocked or not.

For more and better explained information please go to the following links (below) to understand these Omega Creatures (Oldest First):

As this is a Epic, Legendary, Unique and Omega Tournament, the abilities that Omega creatures can use will be all the abilities that a player has managed to unlock.

If you have not spent any Training Points, they will temporarily be applied evenly to match other Level 26 Dinosaurs during the Skill Tournament.

To see an approximation of what the stats may look like, please go to the Paleo JWA Toolbox website and select your Omega Creature by clicking on its image/name. Once here, all you need to do would be to click on the 'Preset Points' which should show you an approximate example of what 'applied evenly' will look like on that Omega Creature's stats (see below).

It is recommended that Omega creatures have all their abilities unlocked up to/in line with the highest allowed rarity in a tournament. As this is an Epic, Legendary, Unique and Omega Tournament, all Omega Creatures' Abilities are strongly advised to be unlocked.

However, you may find that some Omega Creatures may not have to have all their abilities unlocked, as some can still do well without all their abilities available in tournament battles.

You can vote on which Omega Creatures you feel, found, or that you expected that you could rely on most to performed best and be 'Top Tier' team selections in Skill Tournaments by clicking HERE? This will be an ongoing form where you will be able alter your answers if and when you would like to!

You can find the results of the voting by clicking HERE .

**ALL OMEGA CREATURES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT!"**

There is more, but still little certainty to how Omega Creatures will actually perform against any creature, whatever the level. However, the lower the rarity of the tournament, the more difficult it could be to beat Omega Creatures, mainly because of the 'Unique' strength resistances but also the training points spread over the stats: Health, Damage, Speed, Armour, Critical Chance and Critical Damage.

A good start at facing an Omega Creature is taking note of its unlocked abilities, what resistances it has (can depend on how unlocked an Omega is), as we can see that using certain creature abilities against Omega Creature's would successful, unsuccessful or a mix. Also, its armour, whether it can break shields and/or bypass armour and dodging/cloaking capabilities.

FOR EXAMPLE, using the above image of Diabloceratops from the Paleo JWA Toolbox we can see:

  • Trying Stun, Swap Prevention and Vulnerability would be useless - they would have no effect on Diabloceratops.
  • Trying Damage Over Time and Rend would only be partially useless - they would have partial effect on Diabloceratops.
  • Using Critical Chance, Damage, Speed and Armour Reduction would be useful - they would have the most effect on Diabloceratops.
  • Diabloceratops does not have a shield breaking ability and can only bypass armour with its swap inability - you could use shields and armour against it.
  • It does have high Armour - you would be better off using creatures abilities that break shields and/or bypass armour.

Using this information and knowing what abilities Diabloceratops is able to use, you should be able to make a good choice of creature to go against it in battle.

Survey Says and Parting Words

Welcome to this section called 'Survey Says'. We'll be giving you a survey and then seeing what you Explorers voted for as your answer.

Last weeks article saw the 'THE FRANCHISES FAN FAVOURITE' survey with the question/prompt:

"Please name the Jurassic Movie that you would like to vote - the one that you deem the greatest or who's story-line's the best; maybe it's your favourite, you have a personal connection with that particular film or it has your most-liked Creatures in it."

This will include the following 6 Movies from the 2 Jurassic Trilogies:

  • Jurassic Park 1993
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park 1997
  • Jurassic Park III 2001
  • Jurassic World 2015
  • Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 2018
  • Jurassic World Dominion 2022

With that in mind, below are the results showing the 6 Jurassic Films and what positions they finished in and the percentage of votes they each received:

As the saying goes, seems the old ones are the best; both the first film and in both of the Trilogies.

This week, we want you to tell us which creatures, Omegas should be or are afraid of in Skill Tournaments

Omega Creatures in Skill Tournaments can be powerful. In Skill Tournaments, all creatures are set to Level 26. Omega Creatures may only use their abilities of those that they have unlocked, depending on the other rarities allowed in a Skill Tournament.

However, Omega Creatures can get into difficulties against Creatures from the other rarities in Skill Tournaments; some that may be able to takedown most Omega Creatures in a fight. We want you to name them!!

Who goes toe-to-toe with Omega Creatures in a Skill Tournament? Who is able to stand up to them?? Who should Omega Creatures be most afraid of in a Skill Tournament???

The results being featured in next weeks article.

VOTE NOW FOR YOUR SAY AS TO WHICH COMMON, RARE, EPIC, LEGENDARY AND UNIQUE CREATURES ARE 'OMEGA CREATURE KILLERS' !!

Hopefully that will give some of you an idea about your tournament team, but maybe you have already got your team sorted and are just doing some last-minute reading. Either way and whatever your plan, the very best of luck to you! If you have any questions or tournament strategies of your own that you would like to share, along with any other opinions that you can share in conversation by joining the ‘GamePress JWA’ Discord Server.

And leaving you with that, from Lucus1355 and the ‘GamePress JWA’ Discord, thank you for reading, have a great weekend and happy battling!!
