JWA Weekly Event March 29-April 4: Easter

Explorers! This week ushers in the Spring Week which will run through April 12th. The map is decked out for the season, and there's planned daily nest protection strikes and store offers. This week only, we have that nest protectors theme in the form of Easter with a little April Fools in the middle. This looks to be a great week with some exclusive opportunity including Legendary & Unique on Sunday. Let's go over what our Discord community is thinking and what we'll recommend to dart as well as everything else you need to know!

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

• Common = 9 per
• Rate = 6 per
• Epic = 3 per
• Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between, Rares last 3 hours with about 15 minutes in between, and Epics last 6 hours with upward of 30 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Monday - Tuesday: 18 Attempts

• Iguanodon (Friday) (Edmontoguanodon>Bajatonodon)
• Parasaurolophus (Local 4 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Paramoloch,Tragoditis)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

Rather than ramble about what hybrid(s) these featured creatures are responsible for, we will now include that information alongside the spawn mechanics of each. 

Neither Common this week really stands heads or tails above the other. One one hand, we have a day locked variety in Iguana and on the other, a local day/dawn/dusk spawn in Para. Unfortunately, neither hybrid that comes from Iguana is currently very good. The same can really be said for the Para. Tragod does have some value in raids. Our Discord community is very leaned toward Para. This is a week that feels like you might as well just dart what's convenient unless your personal goals really push you toward one. 

Wednesday - Thursday: 12 Attempts

• Edmontosaurus (Local 3 Anytime) (Edmontoguanodon>Bajatonodon)
• Tenontosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Tenontorex)

First, it is important to note there are only TWO DAYS for Rares this week due to Legendary/Unique Sunday. When Tent is a choice, you surely want to make sure you get all of your attempts before reset Friday. I buried the lead there, but we’re absolutely going to side with the typical “target the exclusive” when it comes to your Rare choices this week. That would be the event exclusive Tenontosaurus. Obviously it is harder to come by, but it also feeds a top hybrid in Tenontorex. Useful in raids and arena, you certainly want to be working on yours.

It's very difficult to give any reason to go for Edmonto. Perhaps you hold out hope that one day "Baja Blast" can be great again. It is no surprise that as of writing, not one member of our Discord community has stated they'll choose Eddie. Even if your TenRex is already maxed, our preference would be to stock up on Tent and donate to your alliance. They'll love you forever for it! 

Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts

• Edmontoguanodon (Global Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Bajatonodon)
• Maiasaura (Battle Exclusive) (Phorusaura)
• Ouranosaurus (Local 4 Anytime) (Diloranosaurus>Diloracheirus)

The Epic choices this week are all solid, and our recommendation would of course be the exclusive Maia. Our Discord community very much agrees. Phorusaura isn't quite the terror it once was, but it appears in some raid strategies and isn't completely gone from the arena. It could also receive the super hybrid treatment some day, and it's not a bad idea to be prepared.

Of the other choices, we would lean toward Ouran over Edmontoguan but still would not recommend either over Maia. Neither's hybrids are currently anything great as Dilora has kind of phased out from raid darling status. One benefit of Ouran, you can work toward your Ouranosaurus Pursuit achievement (Launch a drone 25 times over Ouran).

Sunday: 1 Attempt EACH

• Paramoloch (Event Exclusive) (Tuoramoloch)
• Tenontorex (Event Exclusive)

We don't need to tell you WHY to take your one shot at each of these. Just do it. While we seem to get these opportunities more often lately, we still can't know when the next shall arise!

Strike Events and Trials for most of the week will be Easter Themed, and with successful completion you can receive the same Common, Rare, and Epic creatures that are available at Event Drops. You'll notice Wed/Thurs show a bunch of ?s, so what's that about? We can only assume it's April Fools related and those will be Dodo strikes and trials. If they are anything like the Goat from last year, be prepared for a major challenge. Some received a sneak peak at these rewards with the erroneous distribution of the Dodo scent after update 2.6. There are too many to list here (30 possibilities), so refer to the reward info once these towers are deployed.

The themed strike on Friday will feature event exclusive Titanoboa. On Tuesday, we have an Epic Counter Attack Strike and on Sunday, an Epic Counter Attack Trial. Finally, we've got the regularly scheduled Boost Strikes on Tuesday (Attack), Thursday (HP), and Saturday (Speed). 

Scents

Both types of drops are giving one Nest Protector scent per day. Like a couple weeks ago, you'll want to use these as you receive them in order to make room for the next day's haul. These scents can draw the same Common/Rare/Epic creatures we are able to dart at event drops this week. The Themed Scent tower of this week is Fools Scent and will draw an amazing lot of creatures. As with the strikes, it's a lot to list here, so refer to the scent info upon deployment. This scent guarantees one TRex spawn and is available for purchase for 1,000 hard cash (up to 5 times)

Treasure Chase

There looks to be some kind of treasure chase of Wednesday & Thursday, but they aren't giving any details about it. On Sunday, we will be able to chase the treasures through the day! With this set up, the chests are refreshed throughout the day, proximity does not matter, and offer up to 25,000 free coins. They completely reset at 8pm Eastern, so it's possible to walk away with 50,000 before Monday reset.

Hybrid Pursuit

This week begins the Skoonasaurus pursuit, so keep your eyes out for the Epic Koolasuchus! This presents another nice opportunity to hit your 8 direct hits on an epic. 

We are marching in to the final week with the daily WOOLLY RHINOOOOOO. Be sure to complete your missions daily to collect your DNA! Finish early and make whatever reminders you need, you do not want to miss even one day of this event exclusive DNA.
