JWA Weekly Events Jan 11 to Jan 17: Camp Cretaceous

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Hello everybody. My name is Lucus1355 and welcome to Weekly Events. This week is all about the television series ‘Camp Cretaceous’.

‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’ has 5 seasons totaling 49 episodes, plus a special with that last episode being aired in November 2022. In short, a group of 6 teenagers attend a camp on Isla Nublar and become stranded after multiple dinosaurs escape their habitats. Thus far, the events appear to run alongside the Jurassic World films.

Let’s talk about our recommendations of which creature to dart while breaking down the rest that this week has to offer.

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = Varies but tends to usually be 2 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last about 35 minutes with about 5 minutes between. Epics last about 30 minutes with about 5 minutes in between. Legendaries & Uniques last about 27 minutes with about 3 minutes in between. Many thanks to Lilikoi of Dom Tuoretto for helping us nail down those cycle times!

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Wednesday - Thursday: 36 attempts

  • Dilophosaurus Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Dilophoboa>Spinoconstrictor, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)
  • Monolophosaurus Gen 2 (Local 4 Anytime) (Monolometrodon>Monolorhino, Scorpios Rex Gen 2>Scorpios Rex Gen 3)
  • Stegosaurus (Saturday) (Stegoceratops>Monostegotops, Stegodeus)
  • Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor/Indonemys, Indoraptor)

First generation Dilophosaurus had its cameo in season 3 of Camp Cretaceous, but featured much more in season 4 when a pack of them attacked the teenagers. Dilophosaurus Gen 2 is to be darted if you want to fuse either or both its legendary hybrids, and then their unique super hybrids.

A herd of Stegosaurus were featured mainly during season 2, when teenagers explored a clog in their river water supply. The main reason to dart the Stegosaurus is to fuse for Stegodeus with the aim of unlocking and creating the apex, Geminideus.

In season 3, a mob of Monolophosaurus decided to use the vents to get into a penthouse that the teenagers were visiting. Both Generations of Monolophosaurus seem to appear together in Camp Cretaceous, although it’s possible the creatures may be able to come in various shades of grey, green and yellow. Monolophosaurus Gen 2 is probably best to be darted for fusion DNA of the Scorpios Rex Gen 2, thusly for the creation and levelling up of the unique Scorpios Rex Gen 3.

Velociraptor, specifically Echo, Delta and Charlie were featured in seasons 1, with Blue in seasons 1 through 3. However, in season 4 and 5 we appear to see 2 of the original ‘Jurassic Park’ raptors being contained and at times, controlled. Velociraptor can be fused for the Indoraptor, or into the Indominus Rex with and its various hybrids including the apex, Indonemys.

Most likely answer would be to fuse, create and level up the apexes of Velociraptor and Stegosaurus, and to aim for the unique hybrids of all 4 common creatures. So, to be honest, these commons all have at least 1 pretty cool and decent hybrid and super hybrid to fuse for so it’ll depend on you and what you feel you need and/or want to have in your roster.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 12 Attempts

  • Baryonyx (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Tryostronix>Giganyx)
  • Bumpy (Event Exclusive) (Ankylomoloch>Ankylos Lux)
  • Compsognathus (Local 1 Anytime) (Compsocaulus)
  • Kentrosaurus (Park Anytime) (Ankytrosaurus>Trykosaurus)

A trio of Baryonyx are featured in season 2 of the series. They are named Chaos, Limbo and Grim and made a group of poachers from hunters into the hunted. This creature’s super hybrid, Giganyx can make Baryonyx worth darting here.

Compsognathus is a dinosaur that is featured throughout most of the seasons but are featured the most in the first 2 series of Camp Cretaceous and devour a person in season 5. Your focus could be on this creature if you like flocks and if you’re starting out in fusing uniques for your team.

Bumpy is an Ankylosaur and most likely the best and most well-known and loved dinosaur in the Camp Cretaceous series. After seeing a lot of her between seasons 1 and 3, she was left with her herd of Ankylosaurs on the Isla Nublar. She is back in season 5 and reunited with the teenagers. We would imagine Bumpy will take precedence in this selection of Epics as her hybrid, Ankylomoloch is a high choice for legendary tournaments and its hybrid is the apex, Ankylos Lux. However, how is your Stygimoloch DNA count looking as that could be decider as to which Epic you dart.

Pierce is a Kentrosaurus who lives in a dessert biome in season 4 and 5 of Camp Cretaceous. Pierce is helped by the teenagers and becomes trusting towards them just like the Doctor that works at their location. Kentrosaurus hybrid isn’t a bad choice for legendary tournaments or for legendary raids and some unique raids too. Its hybrid, Trykosaurus can make Kentrosaurus worth the darting.

Here it seems that darting Bumpy would be best due to its legendary hybrid and also her apex, Ankylos Lux. However, it could be difficult if you are lacking in Stygimoloch DNA. Darting Baryonyx for Giganyx or Kentrosaurus for Trykosaurus seems to be second choice to Bumpy.

Featured Creatures: Legendaries

Sunday: 1 Attempt

  • Ankylomoloch (Event Exclusive) (Ankylos Lux)
  • Parasaurolophus Lux (Global Short Range) (Parasauthops)
  • Rexy (Global Short Range) (Tyrannometrodon )
  • Scorpios Rex (Event Exclusive)
  • Spinoceratops (Event Exclusive)

Rexy, the female Tyrannosaurus Rex that appeared in the first Jurassic Park novel is never called by a given name. However, Robert Muldoon, Jurassic Park's game warden nicknames her "Rexy" on multiple occasions in the first novel, in an attempt to belittle the Tyrannosaurus Rex. In Jurassic Park: The Game, the main antagonist, Billy Yoder also nicknamed her this but spelt it “Rexie”.

Rexy, of course, is featured in season 2 and 3 but is not the only Tyrannosaur to appear in the series. In JWA, Rexy and her hybrid are top tier creatures and demand respect and caution in nearly all battle types and scenarios.

Parasaurolophus Lux is a lovely addition to Masrani Global Corporation's Jurassic World. Although not in the Jurassic World films, it is featured in Camp Cretaceous when the teen campers encounter a herd of the bioluminescent creatures, in seasons 1 and 3. This creature is one of the greatest non-hybrid healers in the game but are hard to find to dart in the wild. However, its hybrid can deal some strong damage along with those big heals.

Ankylomoloch is not featured in Camp Cretaceous or the Jurassic World films and is the only one like this in the weeks featured creatures (not including creatures of Gen 1 or Gen 2 in their name). This is Bumpy’s hybrid and is fused to create the apex, Ankylos Lux. Ankylomoloch is a high choice for your legendary tournament team as its great for handling most flocks.

E750 in Camp Cretaceous was a hybrid dinosaur that was frozen and held captive in secret tunnels until it escaped. This creature is the main storyline in season 3 of Camp Cretaceous but a second one was somehow encountered by the teenagers. E750 aka Scorpios rex, is probably one of the weakest creatures on this legendary list. Its ok for PvP and also in legendary tournaments as for its 1 turn delay on its “Lethal Quill Shot”.

Two baby Spinoceratops are introduced to us during Season 4 and 5 of the series. The ‘Sino-Spinos’ also known as Rebel and Angel, are Brother and Sister and appear to be best suited in a snow biome. Spinoceratops seems to be a strong contender for both PvP and legendary tournament teams. Its abilities make this creature a hard to beat opponent.

Rexy is most likely to be the highest darted out of the legendaries featured this week, with Spinoceratops not far behind. Ankylomoloch being a legendary means you must get 200 DNA to achieve a single fusion for its apex hybrid, Ankylos Lux. However, with new creatures arriving since Rexy and Spinoceratops introduction to the game, and older creatures getting buffs too, will they still be as viable and strong in 2 or 3 updates time?

Featured Creatures: Rares

Monday - Tuesday: 24 Attempts

  • Baryonyx Gen 2 (Local 2 Anytime) (Spinonyx>Erlikospyx, Thylaconyx>Aenocyonyx>Indolycan)
  • Carnotaurus (Friday) (Purutaurus>Carnotarkus, Scorpios Rex Gen 2>Scorpios Rex Gen 3, Indotaurus)
  • Spinosaurus (Global Anytime) (Spinotahraptor>Spinotasuchus>Albertospinos, Spinoconstrictor)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Indominus Rex Gen 2>Indoraptor Gen 2/Indotaurus, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)

The same Spinosaurus from the Isla Sorna appears in Camp Cretaceous. "Asset 87" features during seasons 4 and 5. Spinosaurus is a creature with a hybrid line from its rare form, up to its unique super hybrid, Albertospinos. It also has one of the deadliest snake hybrids in the game.

There are 3 female Tyrannosaurus Rex that appear in Camp Cretaceous over the 5 seasons. Rexy of course but also 2 other Tyrannosaurus Rex appearing in seasons 4 and 5. This different generation was a mother and her daughter; Big Eatie and Little Eatie. Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 boasts quite a good hybrid line, showing some top team choices for PvP such as Indotaurus.

Toro is a Carnotaurus featuring throughout the series, only unseen during season 3. He was kept separate in his own paddock from other Carnotaurus on display to the visitors of Jurassic World, as Toro was seen as too aggressive. Carnotaurus is an essential ingredient in creating all 3 generations of Scorpius Rex and is also an ingredient in some vicious creatures with rending counter attacks.

Baryonyx Gen 2 is not the same colour as those in the Camp Cretaceous series, so possibly are of a different generation. However, this generation also has great and also, more hybrids and super hybrids; possibly better than that of its Gen 1 form including the new fusible unique and apex wolves.

This is quite a difficult choice between these creatures and we will be surprised to see which creature will be darted the most. Put simply, have a look at the evolution lines above and dart the creature with the line you best like the look of. If we had to choose, then Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 for Indolycan, Baryonyx Gen 2 for all its hybrids in the Indolycan evolution line, Spinosaurus for Spinoconstrictor and Carnotaurus for Scorpius Rex Gen 3 and Indotaurus.

Many reasons to dart any of the rare creatures available to us here:

  • DireWolf for low-level raids and its hybrids for PvP and Tournament potential.
  • Albertosaurus for Rare Tournaments and its hybrids for PvP and Tournament potential.
  • Pyroraptor Gen 2 for its hybrids, their skins and their PvP and Tournament potential.
  • Carnotaurus for its many hybrids and their PvP and Tournament potential.

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

Parting Words

When choosing what to dart, it can depend on your level. So, think about the creatures hybrids, working out which hybrid or future hybrids would be a best fit for your team or to help you achieve any goals you may have; how far these hybrids are away from being created for yourself and finally, by looking at the creature tier lists, for example the ‘Popularity’ and ‘Community Rankings’ tier lists.

Anyway, what a lovely nostalgic trip. Kind of makes us want to go watch some of our favourite episodes again from the series. It was left on a bit of a cliff-hanger so maybe there may be another series yet to come. But who know eh?

What are your favourite episodes and parts of the Camp Cretaceous series? What do you plan to dart and why? Join our Discord and get in the discussion today!
