Explorers! The moment has just about arrived - to coincide with the official release of Jurassic World: Dominion, we are headed in to the first of THREE WEEKS focused around the movie! Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!
Weekly Calendar Explained
Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.
Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.
- Common = 9 per
- Rare = 6 per
- Epic = 3 per
- Legendary/Unique = 1 total
They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.
All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.
Featured Creatures: Commons
Wednesday - Thursday: 36 attempts
- Dilophosaurus Gen 2 (Global Anytime) (Dilophoboa>Spinoconstrictor, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)
- Dimorphodon (Local 4 Anytime) (Dimodactylus)
- Stegosaurus (Saturday) (Stegoceratops>Monostegotops, Stegodeus
- Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)
The long and short of these two days is 36 is a ton of attempts, and we don't find any of these worth spending extra time to specifically seek out. Putting them in an order of Exclusivity, they would go Stego, Dimorph, Dilo2/Velo.
As of writing Tuesday evening, the great majority of those who voted in our Discord poll will be darting whatever crosses their path.
Featured Creatures: Epics
Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts
- Blue (Event Exclusive) (Indoraptor Gen 2)
- Gigantosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Giganyx)
- Tyrannosaurus Rex (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus, Indoraptor>Trykosaurus)
We are not going to spend the time going over these options in any depth - Gigantosaurus is the one you want. It is the newest, and it is Event Exclusive. Blue may also be Event Exclusive, but we currently have the opportunity to raid this once a week and have had her featured in many events over her time. There really is no reason to choose TRex over the others, so please just don't unless you legitimately can not access the others.
It is no surprise that the extreme majority of those who voted in our Voting Poll will be going for the brand new Gigantosaurus.
Featured Creatures: Legendaries
Sunday: 1 attempt
- Rexy (Event Exclusive)
- Tryostronix (Event Exclusive) (Giganyx)
Rexy. Rexy. REXY. Anyone who spent time in last weekend's tournament saw what a major force Rexy is. We can not find any reason to prioritize Tryos. Its parts are wild, and we can raid one of them. Rexy is Event Exclusive and not fusible. This could certainly change some day, but we aren't going to make any bets on that and definitely plan to use our one attempt on this beast.
And it is also no surprise that almost everyone who's voted in our Discord poll can't wait for more of that precious Rexy DNA!
Featured Creatures: Rare
Monday - Tuesday: 24 attempts
- Dreadnoughtus (Local 3 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Dreadactylus)
- Nasutoceratops (Local 2 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Carbotoceratops>Testacornibus>Arctovasilas, Megalotops)
Quetzalcoatlus (Event Exclusive) (Pteraquetzal>Quetzorion)
- Therizinosaurus (Event Exclusive)
These are all excellent choices despite two being available in the wild and two being Event Exclusive. We like Therizin the best, as it is the newest, but you'd be selecting this to sit on it in hopes of a hybrid. We are never opposed to being prepared for what could be the next big thing. If you're not feeling like the waiting game, then we'd suggest Nasuto as your choice. This one is responsible for multiple very useful hybrids. Next would really be a toss up with Quetz or Dread. Quetz is Event Exclusive, and Orion can be a solid performer in the right circumstances. However, Dread is much newer and has a solid hybrid of its own. The issue here is the Preon it costs you seems better spent on Anklyodactylus. Ultimately, 24 is a lot of attempts over two days, and this is a great pool if you're needing to split yours over multiple options.
This one is much closer than the others with Therizin currently edging out Dreadnought and the others very distant 3rd and 4th.
Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!
Strike Events & Trials
Strike Events & Trials will also be JWA Dominion themed and will reward the same Common, Rare, and Epic DNA found at Event Drops. There is a very tiny chance you may be lucky and also receive Legendary in your haul!
We again have two dinosaur specific strikes this week, a Dimetrodo strike on Wednesday, and a Gigantosaurus strike on Friday. We've also got the Boost Strikes on Thursday (Attack), Saturday (HP), and Monday (Speed) with a Badge strike on Sunday
We have a Dominion scent strike on both Thursday and Monday. This scent guarantees one Rare spawn and can draw a large variety of creatures. Pop the "i" button to see which ones!
We have a treasure chase spanning two days this week, Saturday and Sunday. As this looks to be a special chase, be sure to check the "i" button before collecting in case you need to clear space for anything.
This week continues the Andrewtops pursuit with the very useful Andrewsuchus!

Free Cash Link
GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Wednesday, 12pm Eastern - Tuesday, 12pm Eastern every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!
If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.
*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
