Introduction

Hello explorers! Luke AKA Lucus1355 here and welcome to “Tournament Talk”.

This week’s tournament will be the 3rd of 4 weeks in this, the Aenocyonyx Alliance Championship and it is a Skills Tournament with no restrictions so it’ll be featuring all, yes, all the Rare, Epic and Legendary creatures.

Your rewards of course will be Stat Boosts; a much-needed necessity for all growing teams.

Before we get down to the nitty gritty, here’s the format and rewards report.

*note - this is the tournament format as previously announced by Ludia. It is possible it is deployed incorrectly, but we will write as if it goes as planned

Tournament Format and Rewards

Each tournament match is a 4v4 full battle. Whoever defeats 3 of their opponents 4 creatures will be the winner. In addition, all creatures will be set to level 26, will have no stat boosts and there are no restrictions on which Rare, Epic and Legendary creatures you can use. In the case that both sides lose their 3rd creature in the same turn, then the bout will be declared a draw.

With all this in mind, there will be available to use:

  • 74 Rare
  • 89 Epic
  • 71 Legendary

With the rewards being boosts. These will be important to power up your plethora of creatures to do well and better in Advantage Tournaments, assist with campaign battles and missions; the Isla Events, raids and in the Arenas themselves. So, be sure to try your hardest and build a team to take down the likely foes you may face.

These is the number of boosts you'll be able to get for each placement in this tournament:

Best Creatures to Use - Legendaries

Ankylodactylus has 2 priority abilities: ‘Sideflap’ cleanses all negative effects, gives it a chance to dodge and a speed increase, whereas ‘Evasive Cunning Impact’ cleanses damage over time and gives Ankylodactylus a chance to dodge while also lowering the opponents critical chance and damage. Its ‘Superiority Rampage’ causes precise damage, slowing the opponent. It gets a chance to dodge and shields when using its ability ‘Shielded Evasive Strike’ On swap in, Ankylodactylus puts up shields and on opponents escaping, gets a chance to dodge and a speed boost.

Panthera Blytheae is 100% resistant to stun and having its critical chance, damage and speed reduced. Most of its abilities look to cause reduced damage including its ‘Debilitating Strike’ and ‘Cunning Rampage’ which also cleanses damage over time. Panthera Blytheae can attack twice when using ‘Precise Double Strike and when hit, it counter attacks, nullifying all opponents’ positive effects. On swap in, Panthera Blytheae reduces the opponents speed and causes damage over time. Finally, ‘Evasive Hunt’. This priority ability increases its speed and damage, giving it an 100% chance to dodge opponent’s attacks.

Facing Alloraptor will cause you damage and reduced armour when its swapped in, whereas it will cause damage and have a chance to dodge when an opponent swaps out. It only has one ability in its first turn, increasing its damage and cleansing damage over time while reducing its opponents critical chance and damage. After this, it has 2 rampage abilities; one that reduces the opponents damage, and one that cleanses all Alloraptor’s negative effects. Finally, it is able to do 60% rend damage, bypassing armour.

Lystrosuchus only has one move on its first turn which looks to reduce the opponents damage and critical chance. It then has use of its other 3 abilities. One is able to priority heal, gaining Lystrosuchus a speed boost and a chance to dodge. Two is a rampage, causing vulnerability and removing opponents speed increases, while also cleansing Lystrosuchus’ reduced damage. When it comes into battle, ‘Swap In Stunning Strike’ bypasses armour and has a chance to stun the opponent. When the opponent switches out, Lystrosuchus gains a speed increase and a chance to dodge. Lastly, it can escape with an automatic swap attack that can also stun its opponent.

Tarbognathus has the abilities to rally heal via an ability that lowers its opponents damage and breaks shields, or by swap in which then gives it’s a chance to dodge. If the opponent tries to escape, then Tarbognathus will cause damage, bypassing the opponents armour. It has 2 abilities that will break shields and bypass armour. It can try to attack first using its priority ability ‘Alert Surge’ which is always a crit or gives it a chance to dodge, depending on Tarbognathus’ health. Lastly, its ‘Hop And Mock’ cleanses all its negative effects and nullifies all its opponents positive effects, giving Tarbognathus a chance to dodge.

Spinoceratops causes damage and a chance to stun, both on swap in and the opponent swapping out. It can dish out damage over time and has a priority 60% rend attack. Using the precise ‘Heavy Strike’ cleanses Spinoceratops of vulnerability and reduced damage, while bypassing armour and removing opponents speed increases. Lastly, its ‘Brace’ ability cleanses all of Spinoceratops negative effects, increases its armour and heals some of its health.

Fukuimimus can reduce the opponents damage on swap in, and each time it is hit, causes Fukuimimus’ attack to increase. It’s able to hit all its opponents, reducing their opponents damage and cleansing damage over time all with ‘Group Cunning Rampage’. It is also able to heal in 2 ways. Either by ‘Shelter’ which also increases Fukuimimus’ speed, or with ‘Remedy’ which is a priority and will give it a chance to dodge.

Lastly, but not least Rexy. On swap in, it will slow its opponents down and then using ‘Dominant Roar’, will increase Rexy’s speed and damage while hitting all opponents. ‘Alert Fierce Strike’ also hits all opponents, breaking shields and bypassing armour but is depending on Rexy’s health at the time. ‘Defence Shattering Revenge’ breaks opponents shields and bypassing armour, which can hit all opponents too if Rexy is on revenge. It can devour heal using its ‘Fierce Devouring Rampage’, causing a lot of damage in the process. Lastly, if the opponent swaps out, then Rexy will cause damage, breaking shields and bypassing armour while cleansing vulnerability.

You may feel like your team is missing something, is unbalanced or you have yet to obtain some of these creatures. Perhaps the following creatures may fill a space in your tournament 8:

Pyrosuchus - Dsungaia - Segnoraptor - Coelhaast - Tragodistis - Gigaspikasaur - Dreadactylus - Indoraptor Gen 2 - Nodopatotitan - Eremoceros - Thylaconyx - Ankylomoloch

Best Creatures to Use - Epics & Rares

If you need to fill some spots in your team of 8, then you may want to consider these creatures:

Megalotops could be seen as one of the strongest Epics. With most of its abilities lowering the opponent damage, plus some giving it a chance to dodge opponents attacks makes it a difficult attack target and for each attack, Megalotops’ counters, bypassing armour.

Pulmonoscorpius can also be thought of as one of the strongest Epics as its abilities cause damage over time and so does its counter. It can also nullify opponent’s positive effects and has 100% chance to stun.

A ‘vengeful’ Panthera is one of the strongest Epics with both its ‘Berserk’ abilities not needing to sacrifice 33% of its max health. On Revenge, its ‘Berserk’ abilities become priorities – with one able to cause precise damage to all opponents and the other causing precise damage, breaking shields and bypassing armour.

Argenteryx can rally heal with an ability and when opponents swap out, along with two rampage abilities. Argenteryx’s also able to reduce opponents damage, get a chance to dodge opponents attacks and increase its speed.

Diplodocus has one of the biggest amounts of health in the game. It’s able to hit all opponents while decreasing their speed, impose vulnerability and can put up shields.

Suchotator is supposedly the strongest Rare creature with its wide variety of abilities, making it able to deal with most opponents; able to decrease the opponents speed and damage, nullify opponent’s positive effects and deal out damage over time.

Purrolyth’s counter causes 25% rend damage, even more when it increases its attack. It’s also able to heal 40% of its health, 60% with its attack increased. It can put up shields too.

Megalonyx is a hard-to-hit creature with many of its abilities giving it a chance to dodge, a speed boost and lowering the opponent’s damage.

Rodrigues Solitaire is a flock able to bypass armour, reduce opponent damage, cause vulnerability while rally healing, and lower the opponent’s damage with its rampage ability. On an opponent’s swap out, Rodrigues Solitaire gains a chance to dodge and a critical chance increase.

Preondactylus is one of the only creatures to have an 100% chance to dodge, with its swap in ability. Many of its ability gives Preondactylus a chance to dodge and a speed boost, with 2 abilities being priority, one able to cleanse any negative effects and the other reducing the opponent’s damage.
