Introduction

Whats up everyone? Hope everyone had a great AC last month. This month we are blessed with new formats!! Wait, new formats? Fresh new faces in tournaments? This is fantastic news! The not so fantastic news is that because of flocks we won’t have sims yet. Oh and we have patch notes coming Friday for a new update and new creatures!

I still want to thank MattE as always! His field guide app is amazing and its highly recommended. He has put in a ton of time & effort into his app. Matt is working around the clock to update the field guide and be able to configure the flock creatures.

Sim Results

As this is a Skilled Tournament, we have decided to use our Battle Simulator to give you a good insight on how each creature performs. Our Battle Simulator is a tool that was developed by the creator of the Jurassic World Alive Field Guide and it runs matchups for every combination we want it to. It runs 1v1 matchups for all creatures against all creatures, selecting the best move possible for each turn. It then calculates a win/loss/tie percentage and that is then compiled into a data sheet.

Our Sim Results, therefore, are excellent in 1v1 matchups like the very start of the match. However, you should always keep in mind that the battles in JWA are a 4v4, and that it is very rarely a true 1v1. So while these numbers are very useful for seeing who wins the most, you should always keep in mind your own playstyle and possibly other uses that won't be seen as much in our Battle Sim, like Swap in Abilities or On Escape Abilities.

Because we want to give you the most accurate results, we took the top 50 in our original findings and put those against each other. That will give us a better understanding on how those do against each other. So in the image you are about to see you will see the results of the top 20 being pitted against each other, not these creatures versus all creatures.

But with that disclaimer out of the way, here are the results! To quickly explain the numbers: Green numbers are win percentages, red numbers are loss percentages and blue numbers are Swap out Percentages. If there is any situation where the added number isn't 100% there are probably some rounding issues involved

Glacier

Since we don’t have sims this week to put here how about I show you a great picture of Glacier National Park I took last week on vacation! Personally this is more beautiful than any sims (unless those sims showed Stygidaryx as the #1 creature)

Team Building Tips

So, this tournament you get to bring ALL epic & legendary creatures. Since flock creatures have kind of changed the game lets discuss those first.

-Dodo – Immune to decel, 1,300 health on each member (so if you do less than 1300 health you aren’t going to be effective), 1,200 attack. Its alert decoy does 3000 attack! But its disabled if it has 1300 health or less. It could be possible you see Dodo this weekend but I think it’ll be unlikely because…

-Dodocevia - ..you will see Dodocevia instead. 1,350 health on each member & 1400 attack. This guy is 50% resistant to decel so you have some room to slow it. A lot of people ran this last weekend and if you haven’t unlocked it well you get 2 attempts to dart it this weekend. So again, I think you’ll see this a lot.

-Compy (epic) – I like the Compys a lot. They are tricky little critters. Resistance to rending, stun, & reduced damage. 1,200 health on each with a lot of rally heals. They will be tough to take down.

I would highly recommend taking a minute to read the Gamepress Article on Flock Creatures. https://gamepress.gg/jurassicworldalive/guide/what-flock but if you don’t want to click on this fancy link and learn a lot well, you are going to want to use creatures with group attacks & counter attacks.

The tournament is going to go through phases where teams are going to change. Beginning I think you will see the most flock creatures because they are newer & people are excited to use them to start off. Here is what I plan on running to begin with.

-2 to 3 creatures with group attacks:

-Brontolasmus (group rampage) & each move it can do over 1300 damage, so will be solid.

-Ardontosaurus (group decel impact). 20% chance to crit and really put the flocks in trouble

-Carnotarkus (group rampage & a counter). I think this could be the best bet vs the flocks, especially Dodocevia. Its counter won’t be as strong vs Compy but with 1000 attack stat only every little helps.

-Flock creature:

-Dodocevia (for me) I ran it last week but there was a lot of counters I think. This week it won’t be the case as much. Dodocevia should fare better, but it still will struggle vs resilients which there are a lot of…

-2 to 3 resilient creatures:

                -Woolly Rhino (obviously)

                -Mammotherium

                -Diplod

-One of the previously mentioned above group attackers

-2 to 3 Fierce:

                -Alloraptor

                -Allosinosaurus

                -Tyrannoloph

                -Diplovenator

                -Edaphocevia

                -Spinonyx

                -Spinotasuchus

                -Thylacotator

There are legit a lot of fierce options this tournament and it makes me excited.

-1 to 2 cunning creatures:

                -Velosrhacos

                -Smilocelph

-Grylenken (I love this stupid looking bird thing)

                -Phorusaura

Also, 1 last creature to mention. Monolometrodon. I am not of the belief that it got destroyed by its nerf, I think its still a very very good creature and will have its uses in this tournament. I think you will see them a lot as well. I like the fact that it has an impact instead of rampage because I can do 2100 damage turn 1 now.

Parting Words

There are a lot of options this weekend. I’m actually really excited for it. It should be fun. I’m excited to see fresh faces in the tournament & possibly on the leaderboards! Honestly I’m sure I forgot a few creatures. Like you guys I also really need the pretty sim pictures to see where I’m at but I think the list of creatures above will get you guys to your goal! Unless you have all a goal of 1st place.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any questions, want to ask me how a specific creature does in the tournament, or tell me how much you hated this article my DMs are open on the GamePress discord. DadJokes #1609
