JWA Weekly Event July 12 - July 18: Armor & High HP

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

Explorers! This week brings us Armor and High HP. We had an Armor event in February, though they've switched it up a little this time around. Let's go over what we said then, what our Discord community is thinking, what we'll recommend to dart, and everything else you need to know.

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Monday - Tuesday: 36 Attempts

  • Ankylosaurus Gen 2 (Tuesday) (Alankylosaurus, Ankylocodon>Ankylodicurus)
  • Brontotherium (Battle Exclusive) (Brontolasumus)
  • Euoplocephalus (Local 2 Anytime) (Amargocephalus>Tragoditis)
  • Scolosaurus (Local 4 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Skoolasaurus>Skoonasaurus)

New for 2021, we are reaching out to our Discord community to find out what they're planning to dart. We can't presume to understand what it's like to be at any given level of the game and hope this added input will be beneficial. If you aren't joined to our Discord, there is a link a few sections below, come on in!

These may be some of the toughest Common choices we've faced in awhile. The "rule of exclusivity" would tell you Bronto is your choice with a nice hybrid in Brontolasmus which could one day receive the super hybrid treatment. You'd be in a waiting game on this one, and there's never anything wrong with that.

Then we have Ankyl2. Faced with its own day-locked exclusivity, this one feeds multiple hybrids including the fairly newly introduced Ankylodicurus. On the other hand, you've got Alankylosaurus, a Legendary that's been screaming for a super hybrid for ages. We find Ankyl2 to be a very solid choice of this group.

What about ScoloSkoolasaurus appears in several raid strategies, and you'll want to raise it to level 20 for that. Skoona has also come around as a top Arena option and can often substitute for Maxima in raids. Local 4 only comes around every 4 months, so it doesn't make this the most easily accessible. Another fine choice if your personal goals can be achieved.

And lastly, we've got the age old Euop. We wouldn't shun anyone for making this their choice, but this would be lowest on our list of recommendations. Its hybrid, Amargocephalus, is dartable in the wild everywhere, all the time. Tragoditis does appear in a handful of raid strategies but isn't the arena foe of yore.

This is a lot of attempts over just a couple of days, so it may be in your best interest to simply dart whatever crosses your path or narrow it down to a couple preferreds. That's what the majority of our Discord community plans to do.

Featured Creatures: Rares

Wednesday - Friday: 18 Attempts

  • Doedicurus (Park Anytime) (Ankylodicurus, Megistocurus)
  • Meiolania (Global Anytime) (Entelolania, Mammolania)
  • Moschops (Local 3 Dawn/Dusk/Night) (Entelechops)

Here we have another group of difficult choices, but it's hard to go wrong when the choice is tough. The community wants that Doedi, as it is a Park spawn and maybe the toughest to come by (unless you are like me and live off a park, the blessing and the curse of it). Megistocurus is also one of our newest hybrids which could some day be granted a Super.

Then we have Moschops, coming in just behind Doedi in our community poll. I can tell you from experience, Entelochops is a monster when overleveled for Advantage tournaments. There is also still opportunity for a future super hybrid.

Finally, we'll have a look at Meio, also known as Lil Turts. This one is available everywhere, all the time, though it does feed not one but two Uniques. As of now, Mammolania can be a force to reckon with in Arena. However, if and when the datamined change to Resilient comes, she may lose some of her appeal. Featured Creatures: Epics

Saturday - Sunday: 9 Attempts

  • Ankylosaurus (Local 1 Anytime (Ankytrosaurus>Trykosurus, Rajakylosaurus>Diorajasaur)
  • Antarctopelta (Event Exclusive) (Antarctovenator)
  • Carbonemys (Global Anytime) (Carbotoceratops>Testacornibus, Smilonemys)

Just when you think it's so easy because one is Event Exclusive, it really isn't. All three of these are very excellent options, and you really can not go wrong in your choice. Ankyl is responsible for two of the best Unique super hybrids out there. Tryk is the perennial top dog, and while Dio may have lost some (but not nearly all) arena appeal, it is very often used for raids. You're going to need buckets of Ankyl to complete these two, and waiting for Local 1 to come back around may not feed the impatience in you. However, as mentioned about Lania, the likely adjustment to Resilient may greatly destroy both Tryk & Dio Arena viability. Ankyl is a great choice if either or both of these Supers are in your plans.

Next there's the Exclusive Antarctopelta, just a few community votes behind Ankyl. More often than not, we will recommend the Exclusive. We're not going to not recommend it because for now Antarctovenator doesn't hold a candle to Tryk or Dio. That could change some day, so it's certainly no foul if this one's your choice. I'll tell you right now, it will be mine. According to our community, this one is just what the Doctor ordered, as it currently leads the voting way.

Carboturtle is lowest on our list based on its global availability, but it is still a fine option that also feeds two Uniques. Nemys has made a bit of a comeback in the current swap meta and perhaps some day Cornibus can be great. Like everything else that makes multiple hybrids, you're going to need a ton of DNA to complete them.

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Monday, 12 PM EST - Sunday, 12 PM EST every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTubers PokeFodder, Gaming Beaver, and Gaming Ells. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, PokeFodder, Gaming Ells, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
