Giratina: Claim to Fame???
Giratina has always been bad as an attacker, due to the following:
1. Stats heavily slanted toward defense
2. Terrible Ghost charge move (Shadow Sneak)
3. Mediocre Dragon moves
But with PvP's release, that could change. Giratina could finally have the glory it deserves. Reasons:
1. If the GamePress analysis is correct, Shadow Sneak would end up outperforming Shadow Ball, and that is a huge boon for Giratina. The same goes for Dragon Claw, who would outperform Outrage.
2. The winner is decided by how many % of HP do the opposing teams have, and Giratina, being very bulky with lots of HP, is a very good choice in these circumstances.
3. Even the unreleased Origin Forme would be good, trading a little bulk for more damage.
4. Giratina-A has relatively low CP, making it very good for the Ultra League.
In conclusion, if GamePress's analysis is correct, Giratina would be easily a outstanding candidate for PvP battles.

I was completely confused with what you meant until I read the line that factors like cooldown windows are irrelevant since the opposing Pokemon stops attacking while a charge move is being used. Suddenly a lot of questionable move assignments make a little more sense. I'm glad I caught enough to net over 100 candy, plenty to power even two up to the 2500cp threshold while saving some for Giratina-O.
I feel like the CP cap was niantic's best move, tanky legendaries now have not only a place in the game, but can be some of the best at PvP.
I feel like giratina might be the best of the tanky legendaries as it does have decent attacking stats with great bulk. Ghost and dragon is also fairly unresisted as type go.
