Kingdra with DB/Outrage

Just evolved a kingdra with DB Outrage CP 13xx. Any good use for prestige against dragonite?

PS : if dragonite could learn this moveset, it would be fantastic... Haha

Congrats!
Everyone who evolves a Kingdra will be hoping for that exact moveset.
That will prestige against Vapes very well...and if you find a Vape and DNite next to each other it will be an ideal mon to use to prestige with.

Not everyone :>

I'm hoping for Water Gun / Hydro Pump myself.

While the move set can prestige against Vapes, it's not going to prestige against vapes any better than my Vine Whip/Solar Beam or Vine Whip/Power Whip Venausaurs/Tangelas.

I'd rather take the Grass resisting 1 level of damage & doing 1 level of Super Effective Stab Damage over the Kindra resisting 2 levels of damage but not doing super effective.

Same thing for Dragonite. I'd rather just switch and use any of my ice pokemon than use this guy.

However, if I get double water moves. This will match Omanstar and be a rare triple advantage. Double Resistance + SE damage. Gimme.

This is the 2nd best moveset imo. But not the best

Good point...I stand corrected.

Many people would love that moveset... ;-)

Can you clarify in what match-ups do you get that "rare triple advantage" with W/HP? What am I missing?

Dragon/Water is Double Super Resistant to Fire
Water does Super Effective to Fire.

That's 3 Advantages vs any fire type.

3 Advantage attackers are rare, and make great prestigers.

Since fire pokemon are super common in gyms and all ... it's not like Vaporeon is the most common pokemon or anything.

Do we really need another water gun/ hydro pump pokemon? Kingdra is a niche pokemon that can be used as a mini Dragonite. Not sure of its viability as a prestiger but powered up its double dragon moveset is really good.

For prestige, it's superior to any other WG/HP Pokemon other than Omanstar.

The Double Dragon Moveset is NEVER the best choice for prestige.

If I want a Niche Use Pokemon I want one that is sometimes the best at something.

Why not just use Seadra... Kingdra should be used for it's unique moveset options.

Seadra doesn't have 3 advantages.

It's a normal water type. That means it's Resistant to Fire and does SE to fire. But so too does Vaperon, Golduck, Starmie, etc

When you add the Dragon/Water typing. It becomes double resistant to fire. Only other pokemon with that double restistance to fire is Omanstar.

The fact that it's Double Resistant to fire and does Super Effective to fire is what makes it "almost Unique"

It's true unique moveset (2nd place) of DB/Outrage is simply not better for anything than some other common pokemon.
VS water type.... Grass > DB/Outrage Kingdra
VS dragonite.... Ice > DB/Outrage Kinddra

VS Fire though... nothing is better (and only 1 small tie) than a WG/Hydro Kindra

Really solid prestiger. Definately hoping for this moveset when I finally decide to pull the trigger on evolving a Kingdra.

DB Outrage is probably the most versatile moveset. Specifically for Dnite DB Blizzard might work better but Outrage has much more coverage, you can use it for water/fire types with great effectiveness.

Watch out for dragon tail dragonites though

I understand the argument that a double water moveset is better, and it is definitely one of the best fire counters. But, there aren't many fire mons in gyms and a double dragon moveset with stab is very rare while water mons are a dime a dozen.

The double dragon is good against water, fire, and dragon mons, which makes it versatile.

If Kindra had better base stats where I would want it as a Gym Attacker. I would value Versatility, since it might beat 2-3 Defenders.

But it doesn't. With it's low base stats its more a Prestiger than Attacker.

For Prestige Specialists > Versatility.

I can tell you, this is a killer mon and you really ought to consider powering it up for attack. Mine is currently 2023 and will be powered up more soon. Use if for Vape and Dnite back-to-back. As far as Dnite goes, the Ice attackers you normally use don't often get above 2000CP so you are not sacrificing any power.

This is the #1 moveset...no need for another WG/HP...

So the one I just pulled out with my Dragon Scale got Dragon Breath/Blizzard. Obviously not the best but can I use it for prestiging Dnites? How is compared to a double ice Lapras at the same level in prestiging?
