Aerodactyl usefull?

Just hatched an Aerodactyl 91% 15,15,10 with B / AP and I got no clue if I can use it for anything other than an alternative defender. Would it shine against any gen 3,4 pokemon?

Now anything can be a defender. Few people will put Aerodactyl in gyms.
Aerodactyl drops very fast to Vaporeon though.

But if you want a good Aerodactyl defender, you would want Steel Wing. Bite sucks on defence.
But unfortunately Steel Wing is resisted by Vaporeon, but still does more danage than neutral Bite.

Aerodactyl is crippled by pretty bad moves. If it had better moves, it might be more useful. But that goes for a lot of pokemon that Niantic has given poor movesets.

Aww well, lets hope that the future of this game will be balanced so we can bring some of these cool pokemon to the ring one day..

It's as balanced as it can possibly be. Throw him in a gym like anything else. You don't even need to spend anything on him.

I have two (2). Aerodactyls: Steel Wing & Hyper Beam -- Bite & Hyper Beam.
However, their HP is only 123 & 130 (stamina). Both are over 2,100 CP.
Why aren't these Aerodactyls good attackers???

Use it if you don't have 6 vaporeon/omastar/golem/ttar to fight a zard or moltres raid.

If you change bite to steel wing it will hit mamoswine (ground/ice) and weaville (dark, ice) hard, as well as gardevoir (psychic, fairy), rampardos, rhypherior, togekiss, and glalie, frosslass + more (just in gens 3 & 4), of which maybe half will most likely be relevant.

Steel wing is one of the higher (if not the highest) base dps moves before STAB and since aerodactyl doesn't get STAB on bite either, steel wing is a great option.

Also 15+15+10=40/45=89% !
