Ursaring Viability

Does anyone have a decent one / been using it in gyms? What’s the moveset / which moveset is the best for Ursaring? For those of you with the fighting moveset, how has it been doing against Blissey / Snorlax on offense? Anyone have any luck on defense with this guy? Tedi’s are pretty common near me and Ursaring seems like a viable short term goal that I could use to take out some heavy hitters, or at least prestige with around the 1200 cp mark. Thanks

They are basically normal-type exeggutors/machamp/arcanine (high atk/med def/above average hp). I was disappointed when mine got metal claw, but that move has since been updated with better results. I also got counter on mine, so unless i'm fighting vs type advantage, its not getting the full benefit like those other three are. IMO he's still a good attack, although squishier than higher tier attacking mons. On D, he'll have a decent amount of HP, but he's no blissey.

I was very happy to find a teddiursa nest when gen2 was released, i have since farmed candy and was glad to catch a 100% iv.
Yesterday i evolved it, counter/ hyperbeam. Made my day since all my earlier 100% mons hade literally gotten shit moves, im level 38 so ive hade a few ones (for example saved an eevee and got zen headbutt/ psybeam espeon)

So, im really looking forward to trying it out against blissey. Ill get back with my thoughts. Think its a really great mon so hoping it will turn out good.

So, didnt have to much time because of rain.
But i did try my ursaring counter/ hyperbeam vs a spoofed gym with a ridiculous setup of pretty much only 3000+ zh/hyperbeam snorlaxes.
I was pleased with the result, although counter is a bit slow, so it took a while to charge hyperbeam.
Infact i did also try out my second evolved ursaring with metal claw/ close combat and my feeling was that is was more usable. Got 2 quick move hits in before dodging and close combat is very fast. I think its probably gonna be more usable because of the possibility of smoother dodging.
With that said, it was a quick test, and my style is so to say more getting a good feeling about the usability of the moves. But i definetly will be using Ursaring in the future.

Thank you very much for the update and thank you for taking the time to post your findings. I will be evolving one regardless but it is good to know in advance what works.

Been lucky and caught this 100%IV Counter/HB off from lure last Saturday. Keep powering up until now and will Max out just because it is fun to do so. Use in gym a few times but really there are always better Mon for the specific defender anyway. But as a generalist attacker, this is a real good one.
