Rabbit's Reviews Shinpachi
NA Release Date: 2/8/2018

Shinpachi is Buster Crits: the Servant. He’s extremely straightforward in terms of what he does—he gets one turn of absolutely explosive crits. His actual usage, though, has a few non-obvious complexities to it, stemming from his surprising level of survivability and the way his cooldowns align. He’s not the best ST Buster Berserker, but he has things that set him apart from the competition, and he can be quite good if used in ways that play to his particular strengths.

Shinpachi isn’t really anything new. We’ve seen Buster crit Berserkers before, and we’ve seen bulky Berserkers before. He’s both at once, which is neat, and he has a cool trick in that he can do really silly crit damage in a single turn, but these are differences in degrees, not in kind. That said, the sum total of his kit does give him some uniqueness. He’s strong enough to be useful if you like him, and his playstyle is a little different from any other Servant, even if fundamentally he’s just another “hit it really hard” type. Solid addition to the game.
