Rabbit's Reviews Yamato Takeru
NA Release Date: 01/2026
Introduction

It’s been a while since we’ve had an AoE Arts Saber! The last one, in fact, was Muramasa, who was himself a New Year's Servant several years back. Yamato Takeru is quite good, albeit—as Sabers tend to be—pretty simple. They’re not quite a top-of-the-line Arts Servant, but they rival Tez for damage against a single target, and they can reach 90++ levels of damage against Lancers without too much investment. This makes them a solid pick, especially if you don’t have a favored Saber or don’t have a maxed-out omnifarmer. They’re pretty solidly a second-tier Arts unit. They have good damage, very good loopage, strong CQ performance, and so on, but they lack any particularly unique utility and their damage isn’t so good that they can do 90++ nodes at neutral.

Conclusion

Yamato Takeru is a very good Servant overall, but in spite of the mathematical complexity of why they’re good, it really boils down to three things: they have truly outstanding loop specs, their damage is quite good with class advantage, and they’re flexible enough to work well in a lot of situations. Being able to reach 90++ numbers with class advantage at just NP3 (or NP2 plus niche) isn’t all that common, and doing that while also looping literally anything is especially rare. They aren’t the best in the business—that title still goes to Summer Ibuki, with Tez close behind—and their lack of utility is a knock against them, but they’re pretty solidly the best AoE Saber at this point, and if you need a Lancer-killer, they’ll happily do the job.
