Here we go again! Community Day Classic is always a fun time, and we've got big one; none other than Charmender! ....again!

That's right; the Gamefreak-favored starter makes its return with two Elite moves, giving us a shot at some fun stuff once again.

  • Charmander will spawn en-masse and with a greatly increased Shiny rate
  • Evolve Charmeleon during event hours and up to 5 hours after to obtain a Charizard that knows the Elite Moves Dragon Breath and Blast Burn
  • 3x Catch Stardust, 2x Catch Candy, 2x odds of XL Candy for players Lv.31+, and 3 hour Incense and Lure Modules
  • +1 Special Trade for the day, and 50% Stardust discount for trades
  • Timed Research will be available to attain XP and Charizard Mega Energy.
  • Snapshots will result in a limited number of Charmander photobombs
  • A $1.00 Paid Research line will be available in the shop

September 2023 Community Day Classic: Charmander

Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time


We’re excited to announce that Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon, will be featured during September Community Day Classic!

Featured Pokémon

Charmander will appear more frequently in the wild.



If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Featured attack


Evolve Charmeleon (Charmander’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get Charizard that knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath and the Charged Attack Blast Burn.


Dragon Breath

  • Trainer Battles: 4 power

  • Gyms and raids: 6 power


Blast Burn

  • Trainer Battles: 110 power
  • Gyms and raids: 110 power

Field Research

Community Day Classic–themed Field Research will be available! Catch Charmander to earn rewards, such as additional encounters with Charmander, Stardust, Great Balls, Charizard Mega Energy, and more!
