HOLY GRAIL OF CATCHES
What is yours? something that you had been wanting, wondering wth it is taking so long to get? hatching or in the wild? I gotta say, i JUST now got a level 28, 96% clefairy (yeah just a clefairy lol) in my apt! but i myself almost fainted and pissed myself. after catching 250 of those fat fcuks, this was the first one lvl 20+ for me in this range. Now I can finally throw all the others away....

Caterpie just happened, I was doing incense run and 15 seconds before ending he just spawned. I was running to spawn the last pokemon. It is a cool story imo. Next one was golem, he was from the egg. And the last one was articuno, I was raiding him a lot (still have 2x 93% and a lot of lower ivs). I am a proud mystic player and I really like this mon so it was amazing reward for me. I think it is a present for defending honor of team mystic in my local area. :D I am a real warrior here (almost 4k battles won). :) I have 100% kingdra and another caterpie too but I didn't power them up. End of my story.
Near the start of the game I capught a 100% Snorlax. It was not long after the game was launched and probably my third or so Snorlax ever. The appraisal thing had just started....I remember doing the appraisal and it taking a couple times for me to figure out that the appraisal meant it was 100%. One of only 3 100% wild catches I've ever found.
I caught a 100% level 26 Dratini from inside my house (I have an hourly water pokemon spawn point) that is now a level 35 DT/O Dragonite. I didn't realize it was perfect until after I caught it, so despite its relatively high CP, I pinapped it. When I figured out it was 100%, I caught it for my daughter also, so we now both have perfect Dragonites.
I once caught a perfect 100% level 30 Horsea, which is now a level 37 DB/B Kingdra.
My favorite catch of all time is a 100% Dragonair that I evolved for my first Dragonite. It's one of only 2 that I have maxed out. Currently has DB/Hu after using a charge TM to get rid of Hyperbeam.
My Holy Grail was Snorlax. I went for the longest time without until one finally hatched. I admit that I cried a little when it popped out of that egg.
Yesterday I had three 100 IVs. Today, after the Oberhause event, I got a total of seventeen (!) 100% IVs. The result of playing a day with people who use maps...
The entire event could be called the holy grail of catches. Caught more Chansey in 1 day than in my entire career, same goes for mareep, machop, pikachu and probably larvitar.
E.g. caught 100 Pikachu in 1 year and 3 months. Today only I manage to catch another 35.
I forgot one. The only gen 1 mon I was missing for my pokedex (excl. regionals) was Chansey when the Valentine's Day pink event was announced. Unfortunately, even with the presumably increased spawns, they were very rare in my area. I hunted for dozens of hours, often ignoring all other pokemon spawns to focus on finding Chansey. Late in the week, I finally had a Chansey shadow show up on the in-game tracker, only to discover that it was in the middle of an indoor mall at 1:00am, and there was no way to get close enough to it (believe me, I spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out a creative way).
The next night, after about another six hours of searching, I finally encountered a wild Chansey in a random mall parking lot. I caught it, and felt mainly a sense of relief that the agony was over, as opposed to any sort of joy or excitement. It was like a monkey had been lifted off my back. I still have that Chansey, with its crap IV's, even after subsequently hatching and transferring numerous better ones.
I had a similar but less agonizing hunt for a wild Charizard during the New Year's starter event. I had caught a couple Blastoises and Venusaurs early in the event, but no wild Charizards. I went out for the last few nights of the event specifically hunting for a wild Charizard, and finally got one on the last night, in a random residential neighborhood. That one felt pretty good, but I hadn't invested nearly the amount of time nor blood, sweat, and tears that I later did in the Chansey hunt.
Wild caught 93 IV fully evolved Dragonite the 2nd week of playing. Catch date is 7/18/16. I had no prior experience with the Pokémon franchise so I was still learning what was good/rare. I distinctly remember looking at the list just a couple of days prior and realizing how good Dragonite was. Lo and behold I cross paths with this guy. I thought he would run for sure. I didn't even know how to throw curves yet. I just got lucky. I'm not even sure I had the yellow balls unlocked yet. I got hooked on the game that day. When I started taking the gym scene seriously, I had an ace in the hole that not many had at the time. He's still a top performer and legacy to boot.
