Feel the chill in the air? See nightfall coming all the earlier? It's finally time for Halloween, and to revisit Pokemon Go's first event. Halloween is always a big deal in Pokemon Go, and this year is no different. The first part of two separate events, this one has a number of great bonuses that are worth picking up, as well as the advent of yet another Pokemon from Paldea. So get ready to pay your Last Respects, as the Halloween season is here!

Halloween 2023, Part 1

  • Greavard and Houndstone will make their debut in Pokemon Go
  • Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws will grant more Candy, and more XL Candy for players Lv.31 and over 
  • 2x Candy for hatching Eggs, and Additional XL Candy for trainers Lv.31+
  • Pokestop showcases will be available for Shuppet, Banette, and Greavard
  • Pokestops and Gyms will be decorated for Halloween
  • Lavendar Town Music will be available in the overworld
  • A selection of Pokemon will spawn more frequently in the wild
    • Among them, Phantump's Shiny forme will be available for the first time
  • A selection of Pokemon will be available via 7km Eggs collected during the event
  • A selection of Pokemon will be available via raids
  • A selection of Pokemon will be available via Field Research
  • Event-exclusive Timed Research will be available starting October 19, and will reward encounters with Greavard.
  • A timed research will be available that will lead to an encounter with Spiritomb
  • A paid Timed Research line will be available
  • The Pokemon Go Web Store will have special deals for the event
  • New Avatar items based on Yamask, Cofagrigus, Phantump, and Greavard will be available
    • Amazon Prime members will be able to complete an exclusive Timed Research line to nab a free Greavard Wig.
