Welp, it's finally time to return to Alola, as Dusk Forme Lycanroc makes its debut. The Lustrous Odyssey event is coming, and it's.... definitely a thing.

- Buddy Pokemon will bring Souvenirs and Presents more frequently
- Buddy Pokemon will spend more time on the map when fed
- Eggs obtained during the event from Adventure Sync will have a chance to hatch into Rockruff that will evolve into Dusk Lycanroc.

Event Disappointment
So we don't normally put commentary in these kinds of event news posts, but let's be honest for a second; this event is probably a contender for worst in Pokemon Go's history. It features a Pokemon that is basically worthless unless it gets a major moveset overhaul pretty quickly, it doesn't report that this Pokemon's pre-evolution will spawn in the wild more frequently than normal, and doesn't even mention any way of telling if there's any way to tell if its pre-evolution will be able to evolve into its new form at all. Add to this central feature a few very lackluster bonuses that basically add little to no value to normal gameplay, and it seems almost insulting to the Pokemon Go community to call this an "event".
The one saving grace here could be if Dusk Lycanrock is the recipient of a brand new moveset pre-release, perhaps in the form of its Signature Move from the Main Series, Accelerock. That aside, this thing is the central-pillar to a really, really lackluster and disappointing event. Well, here's hoping better random events are on the horizon.

Starting with this event, some Rockruff that Trainers hatch or encounter will be able to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc instead of Midday Form or Midnight Form Lycanroc.
Timeless Travels Special Research
Part two of the Seasonal Special Research story will be available to all Trainers beginning at the start of this event.
Trainers can complete tasks to earn items, XP, Stardust, and an encounter with Rockruff!
