Moltres vs Entei
Who's better? Why?
Answers
Against grass and bug types - Moltres.
Against ice types (w/ ice moves) - Entei.
For higher overall DPS - Moltres.
For higher overall TDO - Entei.
So basically, for raid purposes, Moltres wins simply due to higher DPS output. Entei (in my opinion) functions better as a gym sweeper due to higher bulk and access to a two-bar charge move, but rarely do I find myself needing a fire type for clearing gyms.
Moltres imo.
Flareons DPS is higher than Entei what I can see.
You can easily hoard and spam 20 high level Flareons; averaging a higher DPS-rate than with entei and also saving rare candies.
Entei only real use is it is a bit more potion friendly than flareon.
If comparing 1 on 1:
Moltres > entei > flareon.
if considering the meta (abundance of eevees; flareons, cost of candies):
Moltres >flareon > entei
1. ''Entei tends to have superior TTW to Flareon in raids'':
Running pokebattler at lvl 40
Vs regice
No dodging: in 4/6 cases entei is superior but only 4%.
Vs registeel
No dodging: in 3/6 cases entei is superior.
2. ''less death animations, less rejoins''
Both death animation and rejoin time is calculated into TTW in pokebattler. If you are using TTW you don't need to consider death animation, rejoin time etc, its already been calculated in TTW. Death delay was even changed in the last update on pokebattler.
Changes in the june update (new numbers):
Death Delay: 1s
Quick Attack Lag: 25ms
Special Attack Lag: 75ms
Just focus on TTW.
3. ''Also low def and high hp lets it mitigate the difference in atk somewhat through superior energy gain.''
Sure, but running the sims Flareon is on par with Entei on DPS. Just focus on TTW.
Entei costs a lot mot rare candies but a bit cheaper in dust and potions.
Flareons are a bit more expensive in dust, alot more expensive in potions but doesn't need any rare candies.
I'd say Flareon is slightly better. Dust and potions is not that big of an issue if you have stops around you. Eevee nest are common
and easy to get a weather boosted one. Pushing 24 high level flareons: no that hard, pushing 17 high level enteis: very hard.
"Both death animation and rejoin time is calculated into TTW in pokebattler." "Sure, but running the sims Flareon is on par with Entei on DPS. Just focus on TTW."
I know. I stated that Entei can compete with TTW and then listed reasons why it can do so. Reasons because someone might argue that Flareon has superior DPS due to higher attack stat, which is true, but TTW takes more things into account which people sometimes forget, and TTW is what actually matters, not cycle DPS.
Bottom line, from a resource optimization view, I agree with you, it's so much easier to get Flareons that it's a preferable pokemon. Entei is pretty clearly a better pokemon in my opinion, but it's not better enough to justify the rare candy cost.
