Fustrations of network error and lag VS in game timer

So there I was ready to do my biweekly EXP grind. I had nine 10K eggs, tons of Pigeys, Weedle, Caterpie and enough candy to evolve about 100 of each an I purposely did not spin or catch a pokemon all day to maximize the EXP grind with the daily bonus.

At 11pm I started incubating all 9 eggs while driving at 6MPH on a long one way street on the way to the park. All seemed good but something was off, it was now 11:57pm and the eggs only showed 5K and I was traveling in a straight line. Normally when I take this route it takes 15 minutes to hatch a 2K, 30 minutes for 5K, and 60 minutes for a 10K.

I looked at the phone and there was the spinning pokeball in the top left corner but I ignored it, parked the car, started walking to the park.

Popped the lucky egg, caught the pokemon and spun a stop for the 6 day streak. It is now 12am, caught another pokemon and spun another stop for the 7 day streak, then began mass evolving pigeys while walking around the perimeter of the park in a giant loop. At random time I would get an error "Could not evolve (insert pokemon name)", device would freeze at random time and give network errors. Its now 12:25 and after I'm almost done with the pigeys I realize that the eggs never hatched, I checked the distance and the distance was not counted since I reached the park, they were at 6K, I stopped walking at kept evolving. The lucky egg ran out and the eggs never hatched because the distance never counted.

Now for the last 2 days I find myself battling gyms and the defending pokemon would just remain still not attacking while I drain its HP down to 1 and the timer runs out and I loose because of the spinning pokeball in the top left of the screen, Network errors in the middle of battles that lock me out of gyms for 5 minutes at a time and the impossible to dodge due to lag bug.

Why should I keep playing if this just gets worse day by day?

Might be your phone. Using cell data or WiFi?
Strong signal?
I play with car WiFi and sometimes it switches to "free cable" WiFi and the signal looks strong. When that happens, I experience the same things you mention.
When the cell or WiFi signal is strong, I rarely have a problem.

Most of my errors like you describe happen when my wifi signal does not handshake off to the cellular very well. I had .5 on an egg a couple of night's ago and the app froze when I walked down the road from my house to hatch it. Just a thought.

Sounds like your phone network rather than a server problem.

Our phone networks can render the game unplayable sometimes - I bought a dual sim phone to minimize the issue.

Don't worry bro, you're not alone... Same experienced here.. Sometimes I want to throw away my phone everytime Freezing take over my fun game... Sometimes I asked my self why I keep playing this game???
But my Mons whispering my ears and saying " Please don't leave us, Put me in GYM"
That's it!
