absol

I'm curious if people are powering up their Absols. I normally use special candy only for Legendaries, and since I can't catch Absols in the wild, I only have the 6 candies I got from my raid. The Absol I got from the raid is 96% Snarl/Dark Pulse, so I don't see a need to do any more Absol raids -

In my experience, it's far too squishy to be worth rare candy.

Walking distance is 5km, which is kind of extreme. I'd hold out for a while, they have to give rural players a chance to get it (ok, might be a while)

Can be easily duoed in cloudy weather though, at least they didn't make it a 4+ player job :)

With regards to OP though, I agree with the above responses that it's not worth dust or especially RC right now.

I've battled it only once, on a cloudy day with 2. It had thunder, wasn't THAT easy to beat. While I don't know how rural/solo players feel, I am aware of how they likely feel. Wait for clouds, wait for an absol, see if it takes you 2 or 3 to beat it...then have no candy to do anything with it.

It also has a 50% base catch rate, so you can use a pinap berry and still easily catch it. Dark medal bonus, curve ball, great hit. I have caught 4 out of 4 and yet to even see one break out of the first ball to hit it. (I haven't been super careful with timing, so I did actually only hit the first throw for one of them.)

You can get enough candy to power one up to level 30 from only 10 raids.

If Absol had Foul Play it might have been worth the dust. But Dark Pulse isn't quite good enough.

I'm walking one as a buddy right now, and will power at least one up. It's not really a critical mon, though. I want one powered up for fun & diversity more than because I really need it. Absol is comparable to a double dark Houndoom, but harder hitting and more fragile.
