Evolve or wait for better movesets?
With lots of pokemon, I'm in the situation where I have plenty of candies to evolve more, I have good IV ones to do so, but I already have a good moveset (although not always the best).
I'm wondering if I should keep evolving now, or save my candies and wait for a future move/gym rework. Some could get better options, and some useless mons could become more relevant.
These are the ones in question, and most are not common in my area:
Golem (already got maxed out RT+AP)
Rhydon (already got 2 maxed out RS+SE)
Gyarados (already got maxed out B+HP and DT+C)
all Eeveelutions (already got all best movesets)
Omastar (already got WG+HP)
Arcanine (already got FF+FB)
Typhlosion (already got E+FB)
Kabutops (already got FC+SE)
Poliwrath (already got B+DP)
Slowbro/king (already got C+P)
Any suggestions?

Except that 3 Ancient Powers takes 10.5 seconds compared to Stone Edge's 2.3.
That 8.2 extra seconds is 9 extra Rock Throws, which is 108 base damage, so you're comparing 208 base damage to 210, but 208 does more because many small damage moves do more than 1 large move if base damage is equal due to floor(damage)+1, and also you're getting 63 energy on top of dealing more damage.
So using 3 Ancient Powers is less powerful than 1 Stone Edge and 9 Rock Throws, leaves you more vulnerable to being unable to dodge, and you're also more than half way to the next Stone Edge.
It's like saying the old 4 bar Water Pulse is great for attacking compared to the old 90 damage Hydro Pump because it 4 x 35 > 1 x 90, without considering how long it takes to use all your energy.
For moves with closer times to use 100 energy e.g. Petal Blizzard vs Solar Beam or Zap Cannon vs Thunder, yes the quick moves don't make up for the difference of ~2 seconds of charge move time but 8 seconds is a huge amount. Some Pokemon can even charge another 100 energy in that time.
