Feebas day
This is not a question, but rather sharing my experiences with this Feebas day.
My whole community was pretty excited for this day but it was mostly disappointing.
*Shiny Feebas is random and not tied to a specific stop*
I played for the entire 3 hours and got 0 shiny’s. This probably has to do with the fact that the shiny rates are more or less the same as a normal CD (probably 1/23).
However because you need to make ten great throws or fifteen nice throws to encounter a Feebas (these tasks are by far the fastest as hatching an egg or earn a candy with a buddy are much slower), you actually encounter much less shiny’s than on a normal CD.
I managed to complete 31 Feebas research tasks which led to 31 Feebas encounters, none of them shiny, as you would expect with a 1/23 shiny rate. On a normal CD I encounter about 200/300 shiny elegible pokemon. Now it was 31.
There are always people with 11-15 shiny’s but out of my community (about 700 people), the highest number of shiny’s i heard someone got was 3.
Happy hunting and I hope that shiny rates are much higher in the Americas and Asia.

I think that the idea for a Feebas day was good, but perhaps not the timing or execution.
Seeing as we can only get Feebas quests from Pokestops, the shiny rate has to be higher than usual. I've heard about people who have a handful of Pokestops and their chances of getting a shiny is therefore really, really low.
I did 29 quests and got 1 shiny. The fact is, I barely had time to do more than those quests.
It's freezing cold outside here and the idea of walking outside isn't that attracting. I'm sure quite a few players have similar weather and most probably try to play inside at a big mall or something. The problem there is that it's not always easy to get distance on eggs and buddy.
Because of this I decided to at first just focus on the throwing-quests, then I could do the others.
I ended the day with three stops that I didn't have time to visit (or rather, I visited them, but had to discard the quests and hope to take them later on).
This quest would have been better during the summer because I think more people would have had decent weather then.
And the shiny rates should have been higher.
I still liked the idea though and I had a good day playing (wish I'd got atleast one more shiny though).
I bought a go plus 20 months ago, I doubt they are still basking in that purchase. My account is at 39mil XP. I have taken other free accounts (no credit card linked) to level 39, 36, 35, 35, 34, 34 by playing/catching once a day and raiding with them when I need their help (have 3 devices). Well, 5700 trades helped/hurt, too. I only ever put my 40 and the level 39 in gyms to earn coins.
Many, if not most people that play multiple accounts are actually frugal to the Nth degree. My main account averages $1 a week in poke coins bought (very sporadic ultra box buys)
For this mini-event Just no way would I just get 1 shiny on my main, then open another phone and double my shiny spawn odds. That is not the way this worked. A good thing tho, my phone battery drained by raiding a lot (Saturday had 18 Groudon/Kyogre encounters...no shiny, just used earn coins/free passes, self trio’d 3 of the 6 raids).
Very disappointing day! 3 players, between a 100 and a 120 quest between us, and only 1 single shiny.
A one in 23 chance should have netted us more than just the 1 shiny. There are still a few quests to be redeemed, but I'm not holding my breath.
It will take a long time before I will be able to convince my gf to come and go out and play PoGo with us again...
