Never seen one in the wild myself, but have hatched two from 10k eggs. I've only ever seen a single Lapras in 34 levels.

All of my wild Snorlax have been in residential areas and parking lots near supermarkets.

Wild Lapras are rare and only near the ocean.

My wild Chansey have been in residential areas and near churches and retirement homes.

Not true actually. I've caught a few Lapras in downtown areas.

I caught one in a rural neighborhood 1-2 miles from a small river and another 1/4 mile from a river.

They weren't near an ocean either!

I heard about one and found other lapras in a downtown area too, but the first i was working, and the second ran away, my city's downtown is near the sea, they were around 500~750 meters from the waterfront.

The Chansey thing is a myth, and yet people still believe it for some reason.
My nearest hospital is a few kms away, but I do well for Chansey comparing to comments on sites like these - well enough not to walk one yet as I expect to have enough candy when/if Blissey is released.

I hear they're mostly in housing areas. This has been true from my experience. I used to see them more often on my nearby with the old system, where it showed sightings instead of the ones at pokestops. I would see one on sightings, and go find it. Since they changed the system I have seen two on nearby; one was at a pokestop in a housing area, and one was at a pokestop in a park near a housing area.

Snorlax is rare but u can mostly find it near residential areas. For a more thorough answer watch trainer tips video about where to find rare pokemon spawns and open the links he provides in description of that video.

My experience has been the same as most of the others: I have caught five wild Snorlaxes; four were in residential areas, and one was in a parking lot.

I have caught three wild Laprases, and they were all in a suburban downtown area.

After 33 levels I only caught one wild Snorlax in a big park. Never saw one un sightings with the old system. 2 days ago I saw another one in the same park in the nearby list. The park was closed and couldn't catch it... :(

I went 31 levels and had one Snorlax...hatched. I'm level 34 and since then I now have 12 Snorlax. (Keep in mind level 31 to 34 isn't just 3 levels...it's a ton of xp). I live in a gated community where my nearest pokestop (a single stop) is 1.25 miles away from me at a clubouse.

I work nights and ride my bike/walk for hours most nights off as it's all there is to do from midnight to 4am. I started seeing Snorlax around. Roughly one or two a week.

They are there. And more common than you think. I have caught more Snorlax than some other mons (Hitmons, Chanseys, Jynx, etc.).

I notice there are more or less of them after each migration.

Lapras' on the other hand have been very elusive. I hatched 3 and caught two wild ones. The two I caught were in a known spot. A park, on the ocean, with a marina. One wild one was awesome...FB/BLIZ...but cp 400 or so. The other was slightly better. The hatched ones have been better, but a crap ton of walking to get them up to gym condition.

My point is...until level 31 I felt your pain. "How the hell does everyone have a Snorlax but me?" But it will change. There is no logic to their spawn as far as I can tell. I see most of mine in the wee hours of the morning, but that's because I'm awake then. I have caught 3 of them in the afternoon.

Just be patient (I know..it sucks), but they'll happen. Also, try visiting other areas. Just one 3 hour jaunt in an area isn't enough to count it out. Snorlax are rare...so it's more a matter of right time/right place than anything else.

I live in Brasília, Brazil, on a part of the city called Asa Norte. I found 14 snorlax, 11 captured, 2 in other parts of the city, 12 near my house, 1 km away at max, 2 on the same spawn point that is on top of my house. I am very lucky. It is all about the area you live, here exeggcute is rare, some place it must be rare, same way magikarp is here. Seel and shellder are impossible to find, such as lapras. Lapras is going to be my greater challenge to the dex since I never get 10 km eggs.

I've found two spots that spawn Snorlax semi regularly. During the summer I would get a couple a week. One spawn is 20ft from a lake and another in the middle of town. Both of them share spawns with scyther, bellsprout, and Oddish.

The local biome has very little fire, no electrics, no ice. Good luck.
