Introduction

  • The New Year's 2023 Campaign introduces a much-awaited Servant, Senji Muramasa!
    • There was quite a bit of split in the opinion on him in the staff. All consider him strong, although it was a matter of how strong. It was agreed he is extremely strong at release, although staff that leaned lower feel he doesn't age particularly well, with some believing it would be better not to strongly suggest a Servant that may age poorly in 6 months' time.
    • Feel free to discuss how you feel about Mr. Not-Shirou in the comments as well!
  • All Servants that were discussed for tier placement or movement are detailed below.

5 Star Servants

Tier A+

The famed blacksmith Senji Muramasa finally arrives as an AoE Arts Saber during the 2023 New Year Campaign. At his arrival, with the presence of premiere Arts Support, along with relatively sparse competition for AoE Arts Sabers, his swordplay carves out a solid niche for himself for many Masters. His NP ignores DEF, has 3-turn offensive buffs that activate before damage, and provide the utility of offensive buff removal, making it an excellent loopable NP that increases in damage when used in succession. Muramasa also has no shortage to NP access, having a healthy 50% battery, along with the ability to gain up to 10% NP Gauge for every normal attack, which stacks on top of Card-generated NP. He also has a very high value 1-turn boost to performance of all his Card colors, which can further enhance his damage on a particularly bulky wave or boss. Additionally, his Crit damage potential is impressive given his sizable Crit Damage, Star Drop, Star Gather, and Crit Star gain buffs, along with a small passive buff to all allies' Crit Damage. Furthermore, he provides some utility by being able to ignore invincibility for a turn, and Crit damage is enhanced even further against any enemies with either Evade or Invincible buffs while this effect is active. As a whole, Muramasa's high intensity focus on an onslaught of NPs and critical blows, and the high values of his buffs make him a standout among Servants in both farming and challenging scenarios. However, he has no options when it comes to hard survival skills, making him entirely dependent on support for defensive options. Additionally, even with all his buffs active, his damage is somewhat middling without his Cards, making him dependent on Arts or other offensive support for consistent wave clearing. Even then, he has excellent NP looping capability, and the ease with which he unsheathes his legendary blade will make him a prime pick for any Lancer nodes should the Master be graced with his presence.
