R.I.P. Shinx Raids
Cause we didn't get enough Kabuto and Omanyte from the event right
Answers
You needed Kabuto and Omanyte for the very late stages of the tasks so I suppose it allows people who are less committed to still have a chance of completing all the stages (although I'd have thought they'd have also kept Marowak). Personally I'll miss Shinx raids, but I can understand why they've done it...
That's a good point; if people haven't finished the Meltan quest (my daughter hasn't finished it... well, okay, I haven't finished it for her. She loved Pokémon Go and pretty much quit when she found out that she couldn't trade, so we created a new account for her where she CAN trade, and we're helping her get back to her old level for when she decides to start playing again), this will be quite helpful.
My theory is Niantic got lazy (surprise surprise) and pulled a previously existing raid rotation containing the Kanto fossils instead of adding a new rotation that included them plus other niceties that should still be there. This rotation is literally the same as the Regice wave with the exception of the T5s.
If they truly were kept for people to finish up the Meltan research they should have also kept A-Marowak and Scyther since those are needed for research requirements after the 10 raid hump people struggled to clear. Magikarp and Wailmer could have easily been left out in favor of the Gen 4 raid exclusives. Instead we got a lazy cut/paste since Niantic can't be assed to see what the player base actually needs.
If they are released in the wild i would say it's better than wasting raid passes on them (although with the last 2 uninspiring T5 bosses i admit i used too many passes looking for a shiny Shinx). If they really wamted to help complete the Meltan quest, Anorith should have been included as well, so your theory of laziness fits very well sadly. This is an very uninsping raid rotation indeed
I still need a shiny Shinx so I wouldn't mind raiding them. Buizel I can take or leave, I have a couple and it being a 3k buddy makes getting candy much easier than when I was walking my Shinx. Only needing 50 candy to evolve is also nicer than 124 for Shinx.
I didn't think to mention it but yes, if this was geared toward a Meltan mop-up then Anorith/Lileep would have made more sense in the T1 slots. They could have at least picked a decent raid rotation to cut and paste.
I have pretty much stopped playing as often due to Niantic's moves and lack of new challenges. All I am is a collector who cannot get the items I am missing and playing more doesn't make any difference. The only raids that interested me were meta relevant Mons or the new Gen 4. Take those away and I don't care if I even do my free raid pass everyday. I am pretty much a casual now.
Me too, atm just waiting for sinnoh stones to complete all the gen 4 evolutions, but even those are no longer guaranteed. I'm six seals out of 7 but without knowing the research breakthrough of December i see little point in collecting one more tomorrow to claim my reward.
I'm having a blast with the switch game though that i borrowed from a friend, it looks nice and the references are very appreciated, plus the standars battle system of the pokemon games is way funnier than GO
