Once an eyesore to see on a summon, Bergamo’s Dokkan Awakening has revitalized this Card with new DEF and ATK options. Depending on your priorities, Bergamo’s DEF is the highlight of this Card as his Passive Skill allows for Bergamo to quickly become a tank in any event. While Bergamo’s DEF is remarkable, he also hits pretty hard.
No Card is perfect, and the few flaws Bergamo has are completely minor in the grand scheme. Bergamo: from meme tier to top tier.
Bergamo the Crusher
The new King of Dokkan, Bergamo is an incredible tank thanks to his Passive Skill that adds a 30% ATK & DEF Buff with each Attack received and caps out at 300%. With how often Enemies Attack in recent Events, Bergamo’s build-up will be quick.
While Bergamo does not infinitely stack like other Cards, he’s no less viable on tougher events. With a proper setup, Bergamo’s DEF can easily reach 500K, which is more than enough for a majority of fights.
“You Are The Enemy Of All The Universes!”
Bergamo’s Super ATK makes his already incredible tanking abilities even better as it increases his DEF by 30% for 9 turns. This DEF Buff will help Bergamo early on in a fight when he still needs to build up his Passive Skill Buff. Likewise, when Bergamo reaches his 300% ATK & DEF Buff, the extra 30% DEF Buff will only make Bergamo even tankier.
Eldest Brother of the Trio De Dangers
While Bergamo excels in DEF, his ATK potential is noteworthy. Bergamo may not be the hardest hitter in Dokkan, he builds Passive Skill ATK Buffs fast. His ATK Link “Fierce Battle” will also activate with ease. Bergamo’s other ATK Links also help, but may not be as frequently activated as “Fierce Battle”.
Bergamo also still has a Giant Form, which does have a low 15% chance of activation when HP is below 80%, but this Giant Form can push Bergamo even further.
“Your Light Show Doesn’t Scare Me”
Unfortunately, Bergamo’s Ki Link’s “Transform”, “Coward”, and “Tournament of Power” are best geared for Universe Survival Saga and Giant Form Teams. While “Transform” and “Tournament of Power” are fitting for the Card’s background, but they are restrictive.
The previous two Ki Links are restrictive, but they have good synergy on the right category. That being said, “Coward” should have been replaced by a more common Ki Link to make this Card a little more versatile.
Lowest Ranked Mortals: Universe 9
While Bergamo got an impressive awakening, his Leader Skill is a bit of an odd choice as its Buffs to Extreme Cards are easily outclassed by other Cards. Likewise, the additional Giant Form transformation to Giant Form Cards makes Bergamo more suited to lead Giant Form Teams, but he lacks the proper category Leader Skill.
“Bergamo Best Unit In the Game!?”
Bergamo is an impressive Card whose Awakening was a much needed revamp. He’ll fit better on Giant Form or Universe Survival Saga Teams due to his Ki Links. This Card can run on a Siblings’ Bond Team, but Bergamo might need Ki Support to make up for his Ki Links.
Bergamo quickly builds up an extraordinary amount of ATK & DEF in a relatively short amount of time. While he has a few flaws, do not let this stop you from investing Potential Orbs into this incredible Card.
