Revival: Nero Fest 2023 - Walkthrough

Submit Feedback or Error

Introduction

  • Nero Fes 2019 returns, giving new Masters an opportunity to experience some of the most infamous challenging Exhibition Quests in Chaldea history, while allowing veteran Masters a chance at a rematch with an enhanced Servant Roster! For the NA server, both Koyanskaya and Oberon are available to the roster as well, unlike in JP, increasing the amount of team building possibilities! The event features an Event Shop and unlimited Lottery!
  • Three event shop currencies (Nero Medal (Gold)Nero Medal (Silver)Nero Medal (Bronze)) will be available for farming from Free Quests, whose drop rates are boosted by Event Gacha CEs (Battle OlympiaFood ColosseumMuscle Cavalier).
  • An additional Event Lottery currency (Crimson Petal) will be available from all Free Quests, with drops boosted by the Event Shop CE (Cheer for Master).
  • Free Quests will come in three waves, which are overall the same as far as currency drop rates. However, their Ascension Materials do vary, so Masters may wish to concentrate more farming on the waves with more materials that they need.
  • Exhibition Quests are special high-difficulty challenge quests that unlock on a daily basis during this event. All Exhibition Quests do not allow the party revive option (from 3x Command Seals, 1x Saint Quartz, or Leyline Stones), which means if the party wipes, Masters must reattempt the quest from the very beginning! Exhibition Quests can be done as many times as desired even when cleared, but will only provide drops and rewards from the first clear.
  • Free Quest waves and Exhibition Quest release schedules are listed below.

  • Overall, try to purchase all copies of Cheer for Master from the shop ASAP to increase the number of lottery currency received.
  • Before attempting Exhibition quests, consider rolling the lottery for copies of Divine Three-Legged Race to equip on the damage dealer for a big damage boost!
Walkthrough TL;DR

The below is a summary of the general flow of the event. The more detailed walkthrough provides information about drops and CE suggestions for each quest.

The overall flow of the event is Main Quest > Farm Free Quests > Clear Exhibition Quests > Repeat for each new Free Quest wave (total 3 waves). Generally, the highest difficulty Free Quest has the best drop rates.

General (Per Wave):

1) Clear Main Quests available.

2) Clear Free Quests at least once for clear rewards. Farm last Free Quest for best AP return.

3) Purchase Shop CE and equip for improved lottery drops ASAP. Roll the lottery for copies of Damage Bonus CE.

4) Clear Exhibition Quests as they become available for Summon Ticket rewards.

2018 Exhibition 1
(1 AP)
NOTE: For all exhibition quests, the Party Revive option is unavailable! However, usage of 1 command seal options (HP recovery, or 100% NP Gauge) are still available. Be warned that if the clear fails, command seals won't be refunded!

Available Day 1

The first of 2018's Exhibitions, Masters fight against two smaller Berserker waves (26-47k HP), with the great hero Heracles (242k HP) appearing in the final wave, who has 11 stacks of unremovable Guts that revive him at half health. All frontline Servants get hit with an Arts -100% debuff as well, which lasts indefinitely but can be cleansed.

Detailed guide for this encounter from the original run available here.
None
11

2018 Exhibition 2
(1 AP)
Available Day 1

Three waves, with the first two being normal Lancer mobs (23-44k HP), and the last wave with two Lancer Servants (306k, 518k HP).
Bring debuff clear / debuff immunity for the NP Seal effect at the start of wave 3! The NP Seal otherwise lasts 3 turns.
Also consider bringing Sure Hit / Ignore Invincible since the bosses spam Evade skills.
Either boss inflicts Instant Death on the entire frontline if both aren't killed at the same time!

Detailed guide for this encounter from the original run available here.

12

2018 Exhibition 3
(1 AP)
Available 7/31/2023 21:00 PDT

A lengthy encounter with a single wave filled with 37 Assassins (12-121k HP), four of them being Servants.
Watch out for the delayed Instant Death that the first three Servants will inflict on the Servant that deals the killing blow on them.
The last enemy Servant has delayed Instant Death on the entire party.
Casters are highly effective, and options to deal with Instant Death include: Guts / Buff Removal (before enemy dies) / Instant Death Immunity. Debuff clear can also work, provided the debuff clear effect happens on the same turn that the enemy dies (which restricts options to only NPs that clear debuffs, such as Castoria's).
Other enemies will apply minor debuffs on death, which are not as threatening.

Detailed guide for this encounter from the original run available here.

2018 Exhibition 4
(1 AP)
Available 7/31/2023 21:00 PDT

This is a three-wave encounter, the first two with Saber class wyverns (17-39k HP), and the final wave with a Saber Servant (50k HP) accompanied by two wyverns (99k HP).
The boss, despite having low HP, has Unremovable +200% DEF Up, meaning even Ignore DEF (-100% DEF) isn't sufficient without additional ATK buffs or DEF debuffs.
Sources of flat damage can also work well, due to the boss's low HP pool, so Masters with the right roster can consider pulling out their Burn or Curse stacking team.

Detailed guide for this encounter from the original run available here.

14

2018 Exhibition 5
(1 AP)
Available 8/1/2023 21:00 PDT

Another three-wave encounter, the first two being normal Rider mobs (22-31k HP).
The third wave has a boss Rider Servant (419k HP) accompanied by a total of 5 Riders (64k HP) and 2 Casters (138k HP), who fill in from the backline as they are defeated.
The boss starts with Invincibility, 90% Arts/Buster/Quick Resist, and 3x DEF buffs, which can only be removed by defeating accompanying mobs.
The boss will also start the 3rd wave by charming all Male Servants, so it may be best to avoid bringing Charm-vulnerable Male Servants, or have measures to cleanse or avoid the debuff.
Enemies will also grant the boss an ATK buff on entry, which can stack, although these can be removed.
Every turn, the boss will fill the NP Gauge of all its allies every turn; note all enemies have an ST NP.

Detailed guide for this encounter from the original run available here.

15

2018 Exhibition 6
(1 AP)
Available 8/1/2023 21:00 PDT

Three waves, the first two with Archers (28-61k HP).
A lone Archer Servant awaits in the third wave (1.5M HP!).
The third wave starts off by draining the party's NP Gauge to 0%! Save NP charge skills for the third wave if possible.
The boss also applies an unremovable 10 turn NP Damage -50% debuff (which includes backline) on entry as well.
Every turn, the boss gains ATK buffs; Avoid removing these buffs since the boss will just reapply the buff and immediately charge thir NP bar to MAX! However, this doesn't have any effect when used on a turn that his NP is already full, so buffs can be safely removed then.
The boss has a short 3-bar NP gauge, and can randomly use a skill that charges their NP bar by 1, so be careful when the boss is only 1 bar away from NPing.

2018 Finale
(1 AP)
Available 8/2/2023 21:00 PDT

A single wave 6-Servant rush, each with special on-entry and on-death effects, in the order of Assassin - Caster - Lancer - Ruler - Rider - Saber (111-256k HP).
Some of the more notable things to watch out for:
- The Assassin starts with a 3-time Buff Block effect on the party; this can be cleansed.
- The Caster's on death buffs all enemies' DEF by 50%, and is unremovable.
- The Lancer will give permanent +1 extra NP Gauge per turn on all allies including the backline after death.
- The Ruler's NP removes buffs before applying AoE damage.
- The Rider's on-death effect gives permanent Sure Hit to all remaining enemies.
- The Saber has a 3-time unremovable Guts with ~51k HP revival. Always leave the Saber for last, otherwise on death, they grant a permanent unremovable infinite Guts to any remaining enemies.

2019 Exhibition 1
(1 AP)
NOTE: For all of the 2019 Exhibitions, Masters are not allowed to field more than one of the same Servant!
As with the 2018 Exhibitions, Party Revive options are also unavailable, although 1-Command Spell options are still usable.

Available 8/3/2023 21:00 PDT

A two-wave encounter, the first wave being three Berserker mobs (17-28k HP).
The second is a boss Berserker with three HP bars (401k, 499k, 575k HP).
They start by inflicting Buster -50% on the party, and have unremovable 100k HP regen each turn.
If they are broken within the first 3 turns, they gain a 3-turn Damage Resist +50% buff.
They apply additional delayed HP regeneration with 100k-400k HP values with each break as well.

2019 Exhibition 2
(1 AP)
Available 8/4/2023 21:00 PDT

Two waves, the first with 3 Berserkers (10-24k HP), and the last with a break bar Saber w/ 3 HP bars (272k, 311k, 363k HP).
The boss frequently will use Target Focus on a random frontline Servant.
The boss has rotating weaknesses each turn that are RNG, and change with each break bar.
1st HP Bar:- Rotates between Quick/Arts/Buster weakness. The boss has +100% Card Resist for the other two types for any given turn.
2nd HP Bar:- Rotates between Classes: Lancer, Rider, and Caster. The boss gains the defensive weakness/resists associated with each of the Classes.
3rd HP Bar:- Starts with unremovable Damage Resist +90%. Masters can stack -10% Damage Resist debuffs by attacking using Servants with an alignment that is randomly selected from one of 3 possibilities (shown by long-pressing on the boss enemy class icon): Good-alignment, Neutral-alignment, and Evil-alignment.

2019 Exhibition 3
(1 AP)
Available 8/5/2023 21:00 PDT

Two waves, the first with 3 Archers (10-20k HP), and the final wave with a lone Archer (5.3M HP!).
The Archer boss's NP deals AoE damage and ignores invincibility, but also inflicts Death on themselves.
The boss also has 3-time unremovable Guts (2.1M HP revival), and applies an extra 1 Guts stack after the first 3 are used, unremovable buff removal resist, and immunity to any effects that make them unable to act.
The easiest way to let the boss use their NP 5 times.
Due to Ignore Invincibility on his NP, either Guts, Castoria's Anti-Enforcement defense, or stacked DEF buffs/ATK Down debuffs are best.

Detailed guide for this encounter from the original run available here.

2019 Exhibition 4
(1 AP)
Available 8/6/2023 21:00 PDT

Two waves, the first with 3 Lancers (12-18k HP).
The second wave has two bosses: a break bar Lancer (190k, 245k HP), and a break bar Archer (238k, 291k HP).
In most cases, it's easier to kill the Lancer first followed by the Archer, since whenever the Archer's 1st HP bar is broken, the Lancer gains Damage Resist +80% and 1 extra NP charge each turn permanently.
Note when either enemy is broken, both enemies gain MAX NP Gauge, and have AoE NPs.
Be cautioned that the Archer's NP also has a chance of inflicting Instant Death.

2019 Exhibition 5
(1 AP)
Available 8/7/2023 21:00 PDT

Get ready for a long fight against Caster Da Vinci (106k, 392k HP) and her troupe of 12 companions covering all basic Classes (107-276k HP), each with their own gimmicks.
Helpfully, Da Vinci and her pets have a demerit that drain their NP Gauge by 1 whenever attacked.
Breaking Da Vinci's HP bar gives Max NP Gauge to her and all other enemies on the field, so make sure defensive measures are ready on the turn of her break.
Avoid killing Da Vinci before all her pets, since she grants a massive unremovable DEF +100%, ATK +200%, NP Damage +200%, and ignore invincible buff to all remaining enemies on death.
Due to the nature of this encounter, a stall-based strategy tends to be safest.
All enemies also have various gimmicks that cause effects when attacked; it is highly recommended to check the detailed guide for more information.

2019 Exhibition 6
(1 AP)
Available 8/8/2023 21:00 PDT

A single wave with a break bar Assassin Servant (666k, 717k HP), accompanied with a horde of 99 smaller Assassins (7-101k HP). Only the Servant boss needs to be defeated.
The boss starts with 19 stacks of Damage Resist (total +95% Resist) that progressively get removed as the boss kills one of its own allies each turn, which grants the boss a minor buff.
The boss's normal attacks have an extremely high Instant Death rate! Their NP also almost certainly causes instant death, aside from Servants with low innate death rate (such as Moon Cancers) or with Guts/Instant Death Immune active.
On break, the boss gains Evade every turn vs a random one of Quick/Arts/Buster for a turn. This can be bypassed with Sure Hit or Ignore Invincible.

In the JP server, the boss was supposed to always target the leftmost party member. However, the NA server's version targeted a random party member with each attack and was never fixed. The rerun may or may not follow suit (pending info).

2019 Grand Finale
(1 AP)
Available 8/9/2023 21:00 PDT

A single wave Servant rush vs 7 Servants that cover all basic Classes, in the order of Archer - Rider - Caster - Berserker - Assassin - Lancer - Saber (129-163k HP).
A relatively straightforward boss rush.
Each of the enemies has an on-field buff effect, and can also buff a specific ally if they are alive when they enter the field.
Some notable ones include:
- Medea Lily: Allies' DEF +50% while on field. She's otherwise pretty harmless.
- Fuuma Kotarou: Starts with 3x Evade.
- Brynhild: Gives all allies Ignore Invincible while on field.
- Nero Claudius: Gives 1x Guts to all allies while on field. Also Charges NP to MAX for all allies that are on field on entry.

2019 Grand Finale Encore
(1 AP)
Available 8/9/2023 21:00 PDT

The same encounter as the above, except with higher HP values for all enemies (158-343k HP).
Due to higher HP, it may be worth defeating Medea Lily earlier to get rid of her DEF buff.

Should I Use Apples?

  • Yes, this is a relatively rare unlimited Lottery event, making this the best AP usage for simultaneously farming QP, Friend Points, Mana Prisms, Skill Gems, and a selection of Ascension Materials. However, for simply clearing the event, using AP Fruit is not strictly required.
  • Natural Regen AP will be approximately 3970 AP throughout the event.
  • If going only for 10 Lottery Grand Prizes (full box clear), and ignoring the Shop (aside from CE copies), approximately 2440 AP is required.
  • For clearing the Event Shop (no monuments, EXP, or 3* Fous), this will take approximately 5560 AP.
  • For clearing the Event Shop (no monuments, but with Fous and EXP), this will take approximately 5560 AP (this is same as above since Bronze currency will have less difficulty clearing than the Silver/Gold currency shops).
  • For a full Event Shop clear including monuments, this total reaches 7080 AP to clear all pieces and monuments.
  • The amount of AP required can be reduced with more copies of Event CEs. Additional copies of 4* or 5* CEs must be obtained in the gacha, while 3* CEs can be obtained in the Friend Point Gacha (at a low rate).
  • Assumptions for the above AP costs (uses "first timer worst case scenario with no Friend Point Gacha luck", AP reduced if more bonus available):
    • Up to +1 Nero Medal (Gold): From Non-MLB Friend Support Battle Olympia.
    • Up to +1 Nero Medal (Silver): From Non-MLB Friend Support Food Colosseum.
    • Up to +1 Nero Medal (Bronze): From Non-MLB Friend Support Muscle Cavalier.
