Overview

One of the oddballs among the Regi group, Regieleki is actually pretty frail This is in part because of the fact that its highest stat in the main series is Speed, which doesn't translate well into Pokemon Go stats. The fact that its Defense stat is low means that it's not hard to deal damage to it, and the fact that the majority of its moves are pretty non-threatening means that it's not a super hard raid to begin with. Taking down Regieleki should be an easy fix for any even semi-prepared duo.

Approach

Team composition

  • Ground is Regieleki's sole weakness, and many of its top counters prey on it hard.

  • Most of Regieleki's top counters sport an absurdly high TDO alongside DPS that's well beyond being duo-worthy.

  • Bring Primal Groudon! This monster has a base DPS that's potentially solo-worthy, and buffs Ground Types on the team even when not on the field.

  • A viable option for the duo is to just have both players pack a team consisting of nothing but Primal Groudon and recover/re-lobby when they fain

Battling strategy

  • Regieleki's moves aren't very threatening for the most part. Its Fast moves are a joke, and Zap Cannon/Hyper Beam are potentially strong, but easy to dodge. Thunder is a bit weaker, but far harder to dodge.

Best Raid Boss Counters

Supreme Mega Evolution Counters

Primal Groudon Primal Groudon
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Nothing in the game compares to Primal Groudon in this raid. It's the top DPS and TDO option bar-none, and can potentially even close in on solo-level DPS, especially in Clear weather. Without a doubt, Primal Groudon is the counter for this raid.

Good Mega Evolution Counters

Mega Swampert Mega Swampert
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

In the absence of Primal Groudon, Mega Swampert is a capable Mega option that hits hard and boosts Ground Types while on the field. Its Water sub-typing does it no favors this time around, but it's still the runner up Mega option... a very distant runner up.

Supreme Counters

Shadow Garchomp Shadow Garchomp
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

With a triple-resistance to Electric Type damage and a DPS that is near the top of the list that doesn't include Primal Groudon, Shadow Garchomp is one of the absolute top counters for this raid. Honestly, not much else can be said; it's just so incredibly good here that it should definitely be one of the top priorities.

ShadowSwine Shadow Mamoswine
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Another top DPS option for this raid, Shadow Mamoswine is genuinely great, but it's also pretty frail, comparatively speaking. It won't last quite as long as some other big-names, but it's still very much worthy of a team slot.

Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

A strong mix of DPS and TDO, Groudon is another universal counter for this raid. It's basically a less effective Shadow Groudon, but that still makes it insanely good here.

Good Counters

Shadow-Golurk Shadow Golurk
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Shadow Golurk is a strong option for this raid, in particular because of the fact that it literally double-resists Shadow Golurk's entire moveset. It's another strong universal pick, one that can work perfectly regardless of the situation.

Garchomp Garchomp
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Like Shadow Garchomp, basic Gatchomp is an absolute tank that drops huge DPS at the same time. It's obviously the lesser when compared to its Shadow, but it's still outstanding in its own right.

Mamoswine Mamoswine
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

The old universal Ice Type just needs a few TMs to become a solid counter to Regieleki. It's not as strong as the competition due in part to its frailty, but it's still a great overall choice.

Landorus (Therian Forme) Landorus (Therian Forme)
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

While its Flying type does it no favors in this raid, its Ground typing still carries it through this raid.

Rhyperior Rhyperior
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

Yet another powerful TDO option with great DPS to boot.

Excadrill Excadrill
Fast MoveCharge MoveRating

While Excadrill's Steel sub-typing gives it a resistance to all of Excadrill's moves, but it's still pretty glassy.
