Male Grima Build

I've been wondering how to build my Grima for a while. I really dont know what to do about his A slot (hes +HP -Spd). Im using him in a mixed team together with res tactict and atk tactict, thats why he has def tactict.

Anyways, I have a spare L!Ike (hes -Atk +HP ;-;) and i was wondering if i should give him warding breath cuz an instant glimmer together with his attack vs annoying mages sounds amazing. Or if i should keep the vengeful fighter. I dont even know if vengeful fighter and warding breath works together or if ill have to give him quick riposte or something?

Please help me build this dragon.. (I do not have a bold fighter to spare.. i dont wanna kill my lissa even tho shes -atk)

For ideas, here's mine.
Exipiration
Repostion
Aether or Ignis
Close Defense
Vengeful Fighter
Drive Spd/ any
Distant Defense
He works wonders as tank +Hp-Atk. But for other ideas, you could go for Warding Breath, Quick Riposte, and Atk+3 seal
Edit- warding breath and vengful fighter don't work together

Warding/Steady Breath and Vengeful Fighter do actually work together. What happens is that VF gives you an extra charge when you hit back, as well as an in-built QR5. The Breath skills give you an extra charge both when you hit back as well as being hit.

So they don't stack and give you 2 extra charges when you hit back, but when you are being attacked they combine to give you an extra charge on every hit that happens in that fight, so they are actually useful to use together. But since you can't run Bold Fighter/QR, I'd go with the CD/DD instead.

Yeah Sol really doesn't work too well on him unless its like tempest trials auto battle farming just because if the enemy he is fighting gets an advantage he can't do any flat damage, the amount of times I've had a disadvantaged unit get a kill with a special when doing 0 damage is too damn high to ignore. Personally id go with ignis as he can fire back at a unit doubling him for around 30 damage.

Since he has Vengeful, you can simply give him Distant Def for the A slot. Other alternatives would be stance skills, which ever one will help you specialize him as you wish. Personally I woukd suggest either Sturdy Stance or Mirror Stance but those are a little tricky to get.

If you're using Vengeful Fighter, I'd save your Warding Breath and go with a different A slot. Distant Defense 3 or Close Def 3 works well on him. Especially since you can do both utilizing A slot and Sacred Seal. That'll make him a monster tank. I'd recommend upgrading your Sol to Aether in that case or utilizing Bonfire/Ignis instead. One thing to keep in mind with Bonfire/Ignis is that the bluffs from Close Defense/Distant Defense add to the damage of the special goes off after being attacked.

Edit: If you don't have access to CD or DD for A slot, Fury works pretty well also.

Hi,

I prefer enemy phase units that can tank and kill with a counter attack. So my Grima runs:
Swap
Aether
Steady Breath
Vengeful Fighter 3
Ward Armor/Dragons
Various Seals

I chose Steady Breath because there's way more melee units in the game than mages, and Grima will primarily be tanking the more plentiful Blue mages to which he has color advantage. He can tank green mages too, EXCEPT for Julia and Dierdre. Keep him away from Falchion and Naga Tomes. He should never tank red mages or red dragons.

SB and VF synergize well with Aether allowing Grima to have faster self sustain during fights as each skill provides an extra charge on different parts of combat: one for when he's hit and one for when he hits back. I find Steady Breath helps me use Aether more frequently and when it's most needed on several of my units: Brave Ike, Legendary Ike, and Ryoma.

Rotate his Seal to patch up whatever you need atm, Distant/Close Def, Armored Boots, etc.

I also keep my Grima on either an armor team to stack Ward/Goad armor buffs or on a dragon team with Fortify/Hone Dragons. With SB and enough stacked wards he can shrug off most Armorslayer/smasher weapons and survive the odd hit with Falchion if it's not too powerful.

Finally, have fun with him! He's a blast! ^w^ Also, pair him up with F Grima for fun with repostion and the guidance seal XD
