Think skill refinery will ever be a thing?

It'd be a great idea to improve some special skills that specific units have such as: LAWS OF SACAE SHOULD HAVE CLOSE COUNTER OR NOT BE LIMITED TO ENEMY PHASE ONLY.

It'd also be a good way to give older units special skills limited to them and be a way to get the level 4 skills (Combine like 5 of the same skill to get the 4th version, its IS they gotta make the progress extremely slow)

Also I got junk on my yolo summon and am sitting at a whopping 1 orb. Yolo summon tomorrow if I manage to reach 5, all in baby.

I don’t think that skill refinery will ever be a thing. Remember that in the update this month, 4 skills can be given instead of three, do it would serve me real purpose.

Yes, and it will use crowns.

Nah, I'd prefer a new currency or the use of a currency we've already got because I'm not too invested in arena.

Especially not the dumb way arena is scored with that bonus unit bull.

Yes, especially if arena medals are needed, since a lot of us have a whole bunch.

Skills that need it: Wind/Watersweep, skills like Lunge and Drag Back, Threaten X, Seal X, etc.

I wish we could get a Skill Academy, where after completing a set of maps, a unit could unlock a new skill. If the unit is a 5* exclusive, then an extra map could be there for us to unlock or improve a prf exclusive skill that would substitute an old one. I would love that the maps could require us to use the unit we are unlocking skills for, but since that would collide with combat manuals, they would have the unit as an ally, with the skill learnt, with the death of him/her triggering the game over.

Let's say.

Hinata School Academy would consist of 3 maps (hard/lunatic/infernal). After completing normal all 3* copies (and above) would gain access to Odd Defense Wave 1; after lunatic, all 4* units would unlock Odd Defense Wave 2; and after completing infernal, all 5* copies would unlock Odd Defense Wave 3. After a while, he would get a 4th map (abyssal) granting access to Fury 4 at 5*.

Mist School Academy would consist of 4 maps (hard to abyssal). Hard/Lunatic/Infernal would unlock Dazzling or Wrathful Stuff 1/2/3 and abyssal would give her a prf A skill.

Each version update we'd get new School Academy maps, improving the skills of 4-6 old units.

I know it's a pipe dream, but I would rather have this than a plain skill refinery.

No. We don't need a Skill Refinery, we just need easier access to skills. 😐

That's the thing though, having easier access to skills means you would need to introduce new units with more skills to keep up with the supply of new skills. By introducing more units, older units that have useless/powercrept skills become even less and less desired.

Skill refinery resonates with a lot of people because it makes older units useful instead of pushing them aside in favor of newer skills on newer units.

Even updating older units' basekits to include newer, more useful skills would be a nice change.

Unless you're proposing some sort of shop to buy skills?

You're not pushing anyone aside. Base kit does not define a units viability. Even with units that have completely workable base kits (Owain for instance), you see people change it up completely aside from the weapon.

Why? Because the stats is what dictates how the unit can be used, along with skills.

Not to mention GHB/TT units coming with good skills. Dorcas came with Guard Axe. Naesala came with both Guard AND Swift Sparrow. Garon comes with Panic Ploy. Ethlyn came with Spd/Res(?) Bond. Etc.

I mean really, what skills are you guys wanting in this Skill Refinery? Steady Stance 4? Sturdy Impact? Mystic Boost?

I'm talking about older units that come with skills like Res +3 when things like Fort. Def/Res exists. That's one of the reasons why skill refinery is something that many people want. Being able to refine Res +3 into something like Fortress Res makes the skill more accessible: which is something you said in your original comment.

I think it's too early to refine for Gold skills. Having gold skills too easily accessible defeats the whole purpose of them being rare and premium. Someone mentioned using a new, rare currency to get the Gold skills which I agree with and would increase competition as well as playability in FEH.

Also the GHB/TT come in limited amounts and also cost currency to summon, meaning it's finite. While it'd be a good idea to add more GHB/TT units with better skills (like Panne, for example), it does nothing to help older units with useless skills.

That kinda defeats the purpose of summoning when units can just use the Skill Refinery to get access to premium skills like Fortress Def/Res.

When I said "easily accessible" I meant things like GHB/TT units. Not "hand premium skills over on a silver platter."

This doesn't really do anything. Rare currency that they'll eventually give out like Dew, Flowers, Grails, etc. Then they'll put it in a bundle that allows players to be able to pay for more.

This is just how it is. Useless will exist. It always has and always will. Giving people access to Fortress Def Res simply because they have a useless A skill that'll eventually get changed to something else is just not worth the time and effort.

Just my opinion.

Until they add purchaseable crowns, then I'll disagree. From a business standpoint, it's almost a guarantee that the new currency will be able to be bought but it's not necessarily a guarantee and it does nothing to players who can just as easily buy orbs and summon the skill needed instead of going through specific materials needed to craft the skill.

That doesn't have to be the case. Old skills, and by extension old units, don't have to be useless by default. There can be changes made. The time and effort it would take to craft a skill would be dependent on whomever takes it upon themselves to go through all of the trouble to craft it. If it took 5 crowns to craft 1 Gold skill, then of course it's not worth my time and effort, but the same can't be said for others who may play Arena religiously.

Do I wish it would happen? Kinda.
Do I expect it to happen? Absolutely not.
Some skills are considered premium for a reason. We're not going to get an easier way to obtain them unless IS deems them no longer premium, like Life and Death at 4 Stars on Sothe.
