Thoughts about Alm?

Does anyone think that Alm should have had the Royal Sword as his weapon instead of Falchion?

To me, he's better known for wielding that instead of Falchion and he only gets Falchion near the end of his game.

I think if he had the Brave effect on it to resemble his Double Lion skill in Echoes, it would have set him apart from the other Falchion users and his Windsweep skill would work a lot better with him than it does now. I just think it was a missed opportunity to be honest.

That's just my thoughts, but what do you think, do you think IS should have made Alm better than he currently is?

Amiti = Royal Blade, Sigurd = Berkut.

I think this was brought up quite a lot when Alm was released, but at the time this level of power creep just didn’t exist. Imagine if all these older units got released now instead of back then.

But to restate my opinion, I agree, Double Lion spam basically summed up my run, the Royal Blade is basically Alm’s personal weapon. I even used it instead of Falchion to deal like 80% of the damage against *Spoiler* and only used Falchion to deal the finishing blow, which meant my Alm literally held the Falchion for 1 turn throughout the whole game, including post-game.

Comparing Berkut and Alm to Sigurd and Elincia, just makes it seem like Alm and Berkut got the short end of the stick, it's such a shame that Alm is just an inferior Falchion user and Berkut's stats are lackluster as a GHB unit compared to Xander and especially Camus.

If they were to give older units weapons like those suggested, I'd say the game would be a lot more balanced and people would use these characters more.

Same in my playthrough, Double Lion was too good compared to Falchion, and used it more frequently than that after the main story. I think if they did implement the Double Lion on his Royal Sword in Heroes I think the effect would be something like: "Attacks twice when initiating combat. If attacking, unit will receive 6 damage after combat."

In general, Alm is overall pretty underwhelming which is pretty disappointing. You would think being one of the main characters would give him better treatment but he just doesn't excel in anything. His stats are just too balanced and the Falchion doesn't do much to help him except make him a good pseudo healer. At least his art is really nice.

I prefer the Falchion, it's one of the most iconic FE swords, and I hate the Awakening redesign of it. It's his only legendary weapon in the original Gaiden and is way cooler than the Royal Sword imo. I think he is a good unit in Heroes, just because he isn't broken doesn't mean he is bad.
