The answer is: it depends.
First of all, BAR and MG5 do not need acog (red dot) scope, because both of them have innately high (for MGs) accuracy. If you have some HG to buff that stat of theirs for 40 or more percent (colt saa or spp-1 for example), then you should be using VFL (optical) sight to enhance crit rate. MGs' criticals can be pretty deadly.. But, you know, it won't help if MGs themselves won't be able to hit the enemy. Thus, if you are using them without accuracy buffing, then use EOT sight to enhance both their damage and accuracy.
