If you your question is whether or not you can avoid Architect's AOE damage, you can if you move the dolls away from the targeted tiles, if you don't, then there's no way to avoid it, other than a Force Shield skill.

As a rule, attacks that utilise explosions and/or show the targeted square(s), with the exception of mortar mobs, cannot be avoided (similar to T-Doll grenade skills) except by a doll with a skill that "evades all incoming attacks" such as Thompson.

The only other way to avoid taking damage is to move T-Dolls off the targeted square(s) or to one that will take less damage (indicated by yellow highlight rather than orange)
