Her grenade is only good to drag against swarms of Dinergates and similarly low HP mobs, not in 0-2 for example. Most of its utility/damage comes from the debuff or self buff that comes after the initial explosion.
And yes, Zas is a very good unit because of her utility and capability to decimate teams through her grenade very quickly with correct micro. Since most of her usefulness comes from utility, you won't see her taking a huge chunk of the total DPS in the leaderboard but rather it comes from the debuff she applies, as well as her ability to halve backline HP through her nade with proper micro.
