Overview
FX-05 is a 4-star counterpart to Type 95. Her skill, Serpent Clutch Hunting, sports a similar skill with incredibly high uptime (15/16) and a short initial cooldown of 2 seconds. However, FX-05 trades some of the potency of her already lower skill multiplier for a unique 5% rate of fire selfbuff for every firepower buff she receives, for up to 8 of them stacked up at once, that lasts the rest of the duration of the active skill.
Note that, like As Val Mod’s skill 2, this skill is counting firepower buffs received during skill, so tiles and buffs that were given before FX-05 activated. After her skill’s 15s duration stops, all counted stacks are discarded, meaning they will not carry over to the next 15s. Because of this, it’s very unlikely for FX-05 to reach her 8 stack limit in a normal team.
Needless to say, FX-05 plays well with irregular sources of firepower buffs such as the Fervor talent and Python to gain stacks. However, FX-05 works decently well when set up in a normal team, and going out of your way to provide her more FP buffs can often weaken the team overall due to neglecting the AR or overcapping FX-05’s RoF. Grizzly can do better than Python quite often despite providing fewer stacks.
In the end, the numbers work out so that FX-05 never rises above her station, and usually performs ever so slightly worse than Type 95. There are certainly better options out there for doing what FX-05 can, but she would make an okay budget or 4th stringer AR.

For some in depth math, the usefulness of FX-05’s stacks varies wildly, and can potentially overcap her given strong enough RoF tiles, enough stacks, and a #2 Processor Chip equipped. Here is a table of what stacks will do, with the frame FX-05 falls into put in parenthesis. From this, a general recommendation would be to not worry about giving FX-05 too many stacks.
