Dev Letter #30 Recap

Welcome everybody to the first Dev Letter of 2024! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a great start to the year, as Phantasma and Michael will go over some Happy News! As usual, for every 500 Reposts on the THLW Global account's post here on Twitter / X, 5 Seal Crystals and 1500 Coins will be given out to every player on January 18th!

Before we go any further though, on the last Live With Phantasma Discord event (can be listened to again here), Caroline was also there to give some unfortunate news at the end; she would be leaving NextNinja in January. She was a member of NextNinja for over half a decade and was instrumental when it came to Touhou LostWord Global coming to fruition in the first place! Since then, she has featured on Dev Letters with Phantasma, and later on, Michael, and the Touhou LostWord official Discord server would go on to have stickers of her cat, Luna-Chan which was beloved by many! To say we are thankful for everything Caroline has done for the game and the community is a massive understatement. Farewell and best of luck to her in her future endeavors!

Now with the reminiscing of the bearer of the Happy News covered, It's time to see what this Dev Letter has cooked up, from Friends, to Fantasy Rebirth, to Food, to more!

To start things off, we will actually be covering Shion Yorigami's new MV titled Reminiscence Love which had its full version released once 2024 officially arrived in Japan! Featuring Butaotome and Otsuki Kenji, this is the 23rd installment of the MV Project, and as for which character will get an MV next, only time will tell...

Meanwhile, a New Year's Edition of an Ultra Festival Forever Prayer is live as of the Dev Letter and will be until January 25th. It also features A-Series Friends released by the end of April 2023!

Next up will be a bunch of Fantasy Rebirth updates under the Moon! From B3 Variants of Kaguya Houraisan, Watatsuki no Yorihime, Watatsuki no Toyohime and Sagume Kishin will be getting their Anima very soon!

Speaking of the Moon, more Friends that the above may be familiar with are getting their Fantasy Rebirth Mirror Stages very soon! January 18th is when B3 variants of Seiran Reisen and Ringo bunny hop, skip and jump their way into these Mirror Stages! Meanwhile, a week later on January 25th come a pair of Moon Enemies in the form of Junko (B2) and Reisen Udongein Inaba (B5) make their more for their own Mirrors of Rebirth!

All of the above will also be part of a Fantasy Rebirth Guaranteed Ultra Festival from January 18th to January 31st!

And now for some extra Fantasy Rebirth details, from Campaigns to Login Bonuses, to more!

We have our first new event of 2024 being cooked up, because starting January 18th and ending January 31st comes Cooking in Xanadu ~With Veggies and Prayers~! This one features Eika Ebisu and Narumi Yatadera alongside, of course, Shiki Eiki, Yamaxanadu, all in their cooking costumes that provide a costume bonus!

With that event fresh out of the oven, we also have other eventful pieces of content such as the next Gensokyo Tales of Fantasy installment, where Something's Up With Sis! Yes, this manga will be about Shion and Joon Yorigami and we will be able to read it ourselves by January 25th with art by Katakei!

Meanwhile, for content that has already hit us as of writing would be the newest 10 Floors of Scarlet Devil Tower, where we can now get ourselves 100 God Crystals from clearing Floor 345 and a Relic Paper Disk can be obtained from clearing Floor 350!

To add to that, there are also some other notable details like Errand 3x EXP from January 25th, a Main Story + Hifuu 3x Drop Rate + 3x Friend EXP, new enemies in Hakugyoku Arena, some cool Login Bonuses and of course, another installment of Chapter 4 Act 3 EX 3 with the Netherworld pair in swimsuits!

And now for the anticipated Relic Friend from the Hakure Shrine! Those who were aware of the previous Live with Phantasma were looking forward to this, but yes, it's official now! Reimu Hakurei (Karma Speed) will be speeding her way into Touhou LostWord on January 18th as a Relic Friend who is...of course, a Speed-Class Friend! Just like her fellow Relic ordinary magician, she has 222% Slice Scaling on her Last Word, but also comes with Rank II Evasion and generally immense Agility alongside strong Spirit Power gain!

So there is our Happy Relic News with this Karma Speeding Reimu Hakurei on the run! But wait, there's more as Caroline would say!

Blossoming on January 25th comes Yuyuko Saigyouji (Boundary of Time), meaning back-to-back Relic Friends this month! As for her dedicated Divergent Spirits Stage, it will be against L1 Youmu Konpaku for that Boundary of Time Story Card! More information about her will grow by like the Saigyouji Ayakashi Tree over time, so please wait warmly!

We are actually near the end of this Dev Letter Recap now, but we still have some final little tidbits to cover!

Since earlier in the month, we have had Class Collection Prayers that cost 600 God Crystals and guarantee one of 6 Friends, and this time, lasting from January 22nd to January 31st comes the Attack & Speed Class, Support & Speed Class, Attack Class and Debuff & Speed Class!

Also, remember those Start Dash Limited Prayers for both Epic and Relic Friends for those who are new to the game? Well those are still around to those whose accounts are still new!

There will also be a GiveLab Giveaway Campaign again! It's been a while since the last one. Those who have done this before will probably know what this will be all about, but for those who are new to this, there will be some instructions to follow on GiveLab and you could be in for a chance to win some prizes, like Gift Cards and/or in-game items!

We also have that Everyone Wins Campaign! Those 600 God Crystals, 50 Seal Crystals and Exchange Ema will be coming to all who have logged in for 30 days very soon!

One more thing! Touhou LostWord will be holding a live concert in June 2024, and with it being held in CLUB CITTA', Kawasaki City, Japan, there will be more details to come in the future!

And that is the first Dev Letter of 2024 in the books! Rest assured we will still be getting our fair share of Happy News in the future too, as these Dev Letters will still be in the good hands of Phantasma and Michael!
