This attack is the culmination of her pent-up frustration at not being let outside, her grudge toward her sister for not letting her participate in the Scarlet Mist Incident, and much more besides. But she mainly created this attack because she desperately wanted to play outside! Isn't Flandre supposed to wait until the incident is over before leaving her room...?

Character Analysis
Flandre Scarlet (Scarlet) was released on February 17, 2023 in Prayer "Vampire of the Scarlet Basement Festival"
In the basement of the Scarlet Devil Mansion lives the sister of Remilia Scarlet, Flandre Scarlet. While she may be shut off from the rest of the world, only time will tell before Flandre breaks out and destroys everything she comes across! Flandre shows this as a Speed-type character who is focused on Star and good turn 1 damage.
As an attacker:
- Decent Turn 1 damage with her buffs and debuffs inflicted.
- Has niche killers with Star and Magician killer, but can be relevant in more difficult stages like Chapter 4 Act 2 or Star EX.
As a supporter:
- Grazing and Boosting can provide Agility and Yin ATK up respectively
- Provides Spirit Power, as well as inflicting Yin defense down to all enemies with her skills.
As a breaker:
- Star oriented breaker, with a mix of other elements to boot
- Can inflict burn anomalies to help commit burn breaks, or break a large amount with her Last Word
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on February 16, 2023)
Spell Card
Spirit Power cards, while a handy tool, aren’t as needed for someone like Flandre. As such, you can opt for more support oriented cards, like Worlds in Hand for CRIT ATK support or Miracle Mallet for solo use. Mansion of Memories can support the team in terms of Yin ATK, though solo use may prefer Redder than Blood or Overwhelming Firepower. You can also opt for a mix of the two with New Year’s Shrine Visit VI. Finally, you can opt to boost her Last Word’s damage with cards that provide Yin ATK stats, preferring ones with Agility.
Last Word
As with a majority of Energy based attackers, Flandre’s best slot would be Unknown Barrier Team. Additionally, for a player starting out, you can use Touhou Lostword for a damage boost in the meanwhile.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Flandre would prefer to level up her 1st skill, Scarlet Bloodline, to level 5 first, as it provides her with 2 levels of Accuracy to ensure her attacks are accurate. Afterwards, her 2nd skill, Destructive Magic Girl, should be leveled up afterwards as it provides Team support as well as providing her with power. You can then finish her 1st skill, as it also gives her some additional damage with Agility scaling, as well as the ability to use more barrier breaks often. Finally, opt to max out her 3rd skill, Continue Seal, as it can boost her damage further with debuffs, as well as amplify her Burn breaks on Last Word
Character Strengths
Barrier Destroyer via Star Element and Burn Anomaly
A6 Flandre Scarlet go-to element would be Star, and she also has a little bit of Burn anomaly utility to work with. While she needs 3P for her Spell Card 1 and Last Word to break the Burn anomalies as well as 2P for her Focus Shot.
Supporting Capabilities, Mainly for Yin Friends
Thanks to her low cooldowns, A6 Flandre has the ability to support the team with Spirit Power and Yin DEF debuffs, while also providing Yin ATK by boosting herself. She is also able to boost the team’s Agility and Accuracy as well as more debuffs like CRIT DEF via Spell Card 1 and Last Word.
Character Weaknesses
Great Burst of Damage, but Peaks Early
Due to the amount of Yin ATK buffs and Yin DEF debuffs that she can inflict on the enemy on her first turn, A6 Flandre can easily deal a large amount of damage from the get-go. Part of this is also due to her ability to increase damage of bullet lines effective against the enemy by 40% (mainly Star). That said, her limited Killer range (Human, Shrine Maiden, Magician, Incident Resolver, Older Sister) make her damage with setup not as impactful.
Lacks Strong Elements Outside of Star
Her elements, aside from Star, lack focus which can make her tedious to use outside of Star oriented content. It will be very unlikely to be able to take advantage of those scattered elements in the form of Earth, Metal, Wood and Fire.
