Character Spell Cards
Seija sees many in Gensokyo as evil. That includes its rulers, the self-righteous Myouren Temple and Divine Spirit Mausoleum, the power-hungry Scarlet Devil Mansion and Eientei, and the opportunistic Moriya Shrine and Hakurei Shrine. All that is to say, the entirety of Gensokyo views Seija as evil.

Seija surely thought that revolution-style incidents were an innovative and effective method of defiance against those whose rule over Gensokyo is absolute. However, she doesn't know that such incidents haven't occurred in the outside world for a long time, and have been replaced with systematic revolutions where no blood is spilled. In other words, she doesn't know about democracy.

What are her roots as a youkai, and what value does her ability offer? The more you know about those two things, the more you'll realize that there's a great power lurking within her that cannot be taken lightly. It could be that she's intentionally suppressing that power. Then again, perhaps it's buried so deep that she's unaware of its existence. The latter seems preferable.

Character Analysis
Seija Kijin (Shining) was released on March 8th 2024 on Prayer “The Character Dealing Double Festival”. For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Official Discord Server.
What would happen if the Lost Word incident was reversed using the powers of a contrarian amanojaku? Will we ever see the outcome to a scenario like that one day? Maybe that depends on if Seija Kijin would be able to exact a rebellion against those culprits…although her personality would probably prevent her from doing just that since many others are looking to end this incident already. While the Seija we know has come a long way from a Double Dealing Rebellion to using Impossible Spell Cards, this version of her comes from a realm where Gensokyo is left in a state of seemingly never ending reversal. But was this the doing of Seija, the Miracle Mallet, or a mysterious third party?
A14 Seija Kijin is a Debuff-Class Friend who turns the tables with her debuffs through Yang DEF and CRIT DEF, with slight support, Poison anomaly inflictions and Specular Bullets across the board for the sake of reversal.
As a Debuffer
- Yang DEF debuffs in her kit, from Skill 2, Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK and Last Word Pre-ATK, as well as in her bullet lines (Spell Card 1, Spell Card 2, Last Word).
- CRIT DEF debuff on her Last Word Pre-ATK.
- Accuracy debuff on Skill 1.
- CRIT Accuracy debuff on Skill 2.
As an Attacker / Supporter
- Decent Yin ATK stat at 1818.
- Any bullets with elements resisted against said target gets a 25% boost. (If the enemy resists Wood/Star)
- Spirit Power boosting for herself with Skill 1 (1.50) and Spell Card 1 Post-ATK (1.00).
- Slight Yin ATK buffs for herself in a few bullet lines across her kit (Spread Shot, Spell Card 1, Last Word).
- Yin DEF buffs in various bullet lines in her kit (Spread Shot, Spell Card 1, Spell Card 2, Last Word).
- CRIT ATK buff for herself with Skill 3 as well as a buff for the team via Last Word Pre-ATK.
- Yang ATK buff for the team with Skill 3.
- Agility buffing for the team through the Pre-ATKs of Spell Cards 1 and 2. Also has a few Agility buffs for herself through her Focus Shot.
- A14 Seija benefits from Hard Scaling, with it going up to 90% in her Last Word.
- A14 Seija’s Killers include Gensokyo, Musician, Collector, Merchant, Incident Resolver, Shrine Maiden, Magician, Maid, Inchling, Treasure, Statue, Yin-Yang Orb, Youkai, Grassroots Youkai Network, Tsukumogami, Poltergeist, Doll
As a Utility / Breaker
- Uses only 2 elements in her kit: Wood and Star, with slightly more Wood than Star.
- When inflicted with Burn or Poison anomalies, those same anomalies are inflicted back onto the inflicter.
- Has a bit of Poison inflict/break potential. Skill 3 inflicts 2 layers of Poison on all enemies with Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK inflicting 2 layers of it on a single enemy. These are broken via All-Targeting Focus Shot (2P) and Solo-Targeting Spell Card 1 (2P).
- Every bullet in A14 Seija’s kit has Specular. In her case, her Yin bullets will target the Yang DEF of her enemies, hence all her Yang DEF debuffs.
- Takes 25% less damage from Moon and Water elemental bullets.
- Takes 40% less damage from Humans thanks to Passive 1.
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on March 08, 2024)
Spell Card
The main buffs A14 Seija will need are Spirit Power, Accuracy, Yin ATK, Yin DEF and in some cases, maybe CRIT ATK. However, Spirit Power and Accuracy are the main ones to focus on. Once those are out of the way, you can look to other options such as doubling down on Yang DEF/CRIT DEF debuffing, support cards (Yang ATK, Spirit Power, etc) and of course, Elemental/Bullet Type boosts, being Light bullet/Wood elemental ones for Spell Card 1, and Normal bullet/Star elemental ones for Spell Card 2.

Last Word
Infinity Garden
Little Sister and Sweets
Hand in Hand With a Miracle
Night-Splitting Light
Red Hot Polaris
Lunar Capital Stasis Plan
With a Laser Last Word, 4 bullet lines of Wood and 2 bullet lines of Star, A14 Seija’s “worst” pick for her Last Word would have to be Infinity Garden as she “suffers” from a 50% Laser Bullet Boost and a 40% Wood Element Boost. A close second place would be Little Sister and Sweets for that boost in 50% Wood and 45% Laser, as well as the 50% boosts in Laser and Star through Hand in Hand with a Miracle and Night-Splitting Light. Another 50% Laser option would also be Red Hot Polaris.
It’s also worth noting that Lunar Capital Stasis Plan is an option for A14 Seija since she benefits from Yang DEF debuffs. This could also help other Yang Friends further with their own damage.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
“Finally”, Skill number 1, Convenient Magic is A14 Seija’s most ideal skill to level up, since that Spirit Power boost is extremely valuable. Next up will be the 3rd Skill, Hidden Ambitions, as that Yang ATK can benefit Yang Friends, but also benefits from the CRIT ATK buff for herself and the Poison anomalies on enemies. And “firstly”, Skill number 2, Power Reversal can wait since the notable difference is a stage of Yang DEF debuffing on her enemies.
Character Strengths
”Weak” Damage Output Shines Through
”Unsurprisingly” enough, A14 Seija is very capable of dealing a very good amount of damage! Part of this is thanks to her strong range of Killers, including Gensokyo and Youkai, which are only two of many others! As for general damage output, she is also on the stronger side in comparison to other Debuff-Class Friends. This Amanojaku has definitely flipped the script as a damage dealing debuffer!
”Expected” Yang Puzzle Piece
Of course, A14 Seija is a Yin-based Friend who benefits from Yin ATK buffs and such. However, in a similar fashion to her L1 variant, all of her bullet lines have Specular Bullets, making her Yin attacks target the enemy’s Yang DEF! Speaking of which, this rebellious reverser’s kit actually helps Yang Friends a lot with not only her Yang DEF debuffing, but with even a team Yang ATK buff, which she doesn’t benefit from herself, but Yang Friends will!
Rebelemental Consistency
Having 2 elements that A14 Seija can make good use of consistently can help a lot, especially since her Poison anomaly breaking potential isn’t the most impressive. With Wood and Star appearing rather frequently in her kit, it’s safe to say A14 Seija wood benefit against enemies weak to these two elements, but even if these are resisted, they still get a 25% boost in damage so she can still be the star when it comes to elemental distribution.
Character Weaknesses
”High” Amount of Buffs
Whether it’s Accuracy, Yin ATK, Yin DEF or in some cases, CRIT ATK, A14 Seija is definitely lacking in the field of self-sufficiency. However, this is a common theme for other debuffers, albeit in the case of this “selfless” amanojaku, she does have some buffs to work with. Then again, some of those include Yang ATK and Agility which while they are team buffs, doesn’t benefit A14 Seija. Thankfully she does have some bullet lines which help her out in terms of selfish Yin ATK and Yin DEF, and her Skill 3 does help a bit with CRIT ATK. However, the biggest hole to fill is Accuracy, which should be manageable to fix when Story Cards and other team members are involved.
