Reisen's Mock Battle Guide

Touhou LostWord’s second event is almost upon us, and you know what that means: Another pre-event! This time, it seems Reisen Udongein Inaba’s undergoing some battle training...I wonder what sort of fight she’s preparing for? Well, she’s certainly dressing for the part - in a new free outfit to earn! Don’t sweat though, we’re here to walk you through exactly what you need to earn that outfit - and a host of goodies, besides. Do keep in mind you do not need to own Reisen to unlock this outfit - once you earn it, it will be yours forever, and ready for you once you obtain Reisen.

Like the first pre-event, Reisen's Mock Battle is a series of time-gated missions, which you can check from the missions menu. Unlike the first pre-event, there are two different types of missions: those which unlock daily, and can be completed in sequential order at your leisure, and those which expire daily. Missions are unlocked at the same time daily for all players - so if you start working on the pre-events, say, 8 days from when it starts, you can blast through it all at once. 

If all you want to do is unlock Reisen’s new costume: What you will need to do is complete the “Clear Stages” missions. These unlock in sequential order, and will involve stages from Chapter 1, and Chapter 2 Act 1. These missions will need to be completed on Normal difficulty, and are not retroactive - even if you’ve already finished the stage, you must complete it again once you have the mission for it to count. If you start late and only see one mission, don't fret: they unlock in sequential order, so each time you complete the current mission, you'll unlock the next one, up to the currently available one for all players. You'll obtain Reisen's outfit once you clear the final mission: additionally, you’ll also obtain some skill books and tile pieces along the way.

If you want the full rewards, you’ll also need to complete the other missions, which are spread into the two different types.

For the time-limited missions: Once per day, you will need to log in and win 30 battles total - these missions expire at daily reset, and do not carry over, so if you miss a day, you lose out on those missions. Completing these missions will give you scrolls, tiles, incense wood, and skill books.

For the other missions: These missions are unlocked daily for the entire playerbase, so if you start late, you effectively get a new copy of the mission each time you complete the current copy. They’re split into four different missions: Completing 3 Errands, finishing training in the dojo once, providing the school with food once, and using 500 Spirit P in battle. Completing these missions will grant scrolls, skill books, and wagashi (school food). 

All in all, this pretty much just boils down to logging in, and playing the game.
