[JP News] 7/28/2023 Live Stream Recap!

Welcome everybody to the July 2023 Live Stream of Touhou LostWord JP! This is the 32nd one of these, and it’s well and truly summer vibes this time around, but maybe some of the following new stuff below will come as a surprise to you. More on that later though…

However, like before, we have to give our usual Spoiler Warning! While it’s expected a lot of the following will probably come to the Global version very shortly after this, maybe you don’t want to find out what could come soon just yet, and if you are one of those people, feel free to stop reading now! But for those who are ready for the surprises below, let’s go into it all, starting with some quick previews we got along the way!

Last month, we were gifted with a purely wonderful Junko MV in the form of No Name, No Life by Touhou LostWord feat. Fuchigami Mai × Shojo Riron Kansokujo! We were reminded of the awesome MV during the stream, so here is a reminder of it below!

But for new MV Project information, Byakuren Hijiri will have her own MV next! Of course, this means she will also get her own Relic variant in the future, but with her theme being amazing (as well as many arrangements of it out there), I’m sure this will be no different! More information on it will come in a future live stream, most likely next month.

Byakuren has been getting a lot of love in LostWord recently, hasn't she?

We just got Chapter 2 EX 1 that came to both JP and Global this month, so it seems like it is EX season recently, and maybe you were thinking we would get Chapter 2 EX 2 soon…well surprise! Chapter 4 Act 3 EX is coming and JP even had a login bonus for it announced recently, but maybe there was a bit of foreshadowing with that.

BOO!

Yes, this may come as a shock to the new Friend in question’s pleasure, but a new Kogasa Tatara variant is finally here and the C3 train doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. Of course, she is an Epic Friend and she will come as an Attack-Class too. So with that said, here are two images of Kogasa Tatara (Beach Parasol Caught in the Waves) below, one of them showing her three Voice Actors!

As well as the karakasa obake above, a few other Friends at the beach will be having their own reruns in August!

So as we would probably expect at this point, in comes a new VS Divergent Spirits stage to accompany the new Kogasa variant! This one is against Minamitsu Murasa (L1) and the Story Card appears to be of both Benben and Yatsuhashi Tsukumo in their Event costumes! And yes, it is finally back and up for grabs again, The Heat of my Fingertips makes its grand return with a brand new stage!

And now it’s time for Fantasy Rebirth News! Firstly, the mirror stages, everyone from the Hifuu E9 Cast (E9 Remilia, E1 Flandre, E1 Sakuya, E1 Meiling, E1 Patchouli and E1 Koakuma) are all getting their mirror stages on the 31st, and it’s the 3rd batch of Ultra Festival Friends to get it as well! Following in their footsteps next month will be Kogasa Tatara (surprise!), Kyouko Kasodani (OHAYOUUUUU) and Nue Houjuu (unidentified)!

Now for costumes, we found out last month that both Suika Ibuki and Yuugi Hoshiguma would be getting their costumes next, and the day to find out what they look like is finally here! Suika looks to have a golden gourd of sake and Yuugi has a cool looking sword and a nice pattern on her dress. They both have nice zebra-patterned coats too, which might be an oni theme? As for who is next however, Tewi Inaba and Sumireko Usami are preparing for their own costume reveal in August next month!

And of course, Fantasy Rebirth 2.0! We love to find out who is getting what buffs are coming, and while Ran Yakumo, Chen, Lily White, Fujiwara no Mokou and Seiran get even more buffs to their Progression Tree, Koakuma finally gets her fair share of upgrades! I’m sure a certain fellow member of GamePress will be very happy to hear about this devil finally getting some upgrades!

For a better idea on who is getting what kind of buffs, here is what to expect from them below:

Once that event’s time is up though, August is going to be a month of music, because first up will be a rerun of Masked Dancer Rebellion featuring Kokoro, Benben, Yatsuhashi, Mai and Satono! After that will be a currently JP exclusive event called Bullet Operetta Rocking VOICE!! (not official translation) although the costumes should still be familiar, as its main characters are Kyouko, Mystia and Kisume!

Meanwhile, when we do get around to the next new JP event once those two reruns are done, the month of music looks to be very much the case here as both Joon Yorigami and Byakuren Hijiri will be getting some new costumes! Joon looks like she both sings and plays the acoustic guitar while Byakuren is now an electric guitarist!

Also, Byakuren has been getting a lot of love recently, hasn't she? I suppose her kindness to those around her has finally paid off!

Now for some various Quality of Life stuff and other additions and updates! From some slight tweaks in how new 3 Star and 4 Star Story Cards can be skipped, slight UI improvements, beginner tasks for newer players, more songs added to the Reimu’s Great Exorcism Minigame, a sneak peek of all the login bonus rewards and a new Manga Event with x2 Manga Points for those who want to catch up with the older mangas!

And as we are nearing the end, it wouldn’t be a live stream without some merch at the end, but we also have a LostWord x GoodSmile Base Cafe on August 24th in addition to that! As for merch though, we have another set of posters for previous costumes, Acrylic Art for more Story Cards, some goods at Lawson stores and FUNNYLAB!

It’s time to wrap things up again, but next time stream is confirmed to be on August 28th at the same time like usual, but like last month, there will be special guests! This time, joining in on the fun will be none other than Yuuhei Satellite! Maybe you’ve heard their music from the Memories of Phantasm fanmade anime or maybe you heard them elsewhere, but in addition to that, they have contributed to the MVs for The Heat of my Fingertips (Remilia’s MV) and Moon Reverie (Koishi’s MV). Maybe those two will be in the spotlight at some point next month? Only time will tell, but I am sure it will be awesome to find out what will happen when that day comes!
