Should You Pull?

Mostly recommended if you want a strong Festival Friend from Heaven (and like Tenshi of course). After a week of peace and quiet, a cloud nine Celestial has descended from above to cause chaos, and this version of Tenshi Hinanawi from the Celestial of the Scarlet Sky Festival’s wielded weapon is the Water Web of Heaven and Earth instead of the traditional Sword of Hisou. Can the Eldest Daughter solve the incident regarding the out of control Scarlet Mist? More importantly, does her kit provide her with what it takes to deal with any obstacles in her way?

Short answer: Yes! This Attack-Class Friend serves her role very well, and has a strong Killer range that includes Gensokyo, Shrine Maiden, Magician, Maid, Vampire, Half Human Half Phantom, Ghost, Sage, Oni, Moon Rabbit, Tengu and Shinigami. The Gensokyo Killers are on their own, but can cover quite a handful of enemies, with the rest not only being themed around the whole Touhou 10.5 cast (barring Iku and Tenshi herself of course), but also serving as a form of backup. These are also empowered by A6 Tenshi’s abundant CRIT ATK buffs, some for herself and some for the party, a 33% increase in any of her effective bullet lines and has Yin DEF buffs supported by her strong Hard Scaling, further increasing her damage output (133% on Last Word, as well as first bullet lines on both Spell Cards)!

Going over more of what makes A6 Tenshi great is how she is able to provide herself the buffs needed to thrive, such as the buffs above, Accuracy and increased Spirit Power! The increased Spirit Power can also go hand in hand with her Yin ATK buffs for the team received by Boosting. If that wasn’t enough, there are also CRIT DEF and Yin DEF debuffs on enemies across her kit. Another notable pro is her ice-breaking Freeze anomaly utility, not just inflicted on herself (another way of A6 Tenshi gaining Yin DEF), but also upon enemies. These can be broken with her Focus Shot, Spell Card 1 and Last Word, with Spell Card 1 being able to break a rather handy chunk of Freeze anomalies thanks to the mix of Skill 2, Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK and Spell Card 1’s bullet lines.

Some less than stellar points to cover regarding this Celestial is her elemental distribution and her lack of Yin ATK buffs. Firstly, the Yin ATK buffs. Being limited to being granted by just Boosting, only lasting 1 turn is unfortunate if you need ways for her to stack up Yin ATK buffs and/or if the aforementioned possible Yin DEF debuffs aren’t enough, but it’s something Story Cards and other Friends can mitigate thankfully. As for the elements, there is a bit of an inconsistency in them due to her Spell Cards consisting of Earth and Water, her Last Word consisting of Metal and Water and her Shots consisting of Fire/Wood and Water. The Spell Cards make you think A6 Tenshi is more Earth/Water oriented but having Metal only appear in her Last Word could be slightly awkward, especially if enemies are very specific with their elemental weaknesses and/or there is an emphasis on her 33% damage boost for bullet lines with effective elements. But overall, these obstacles aren’t be-all or end-all since overall, the pros definitely outweigh the cons

It’s Story Card Spotlight again, and it’s the return of the 5★ Story Card, that is Underworld Party Night! Debuffing the CRIT DEF and Yin DEF of enemies by 3 and 2 stages respectively (both 2T) and adding a 20% Energy Bullet Boost, it is definitely still a valid Story Card in its own right, even over a year after its arrival to the game. Joining it is a new 4★ Card called Red Dragonfly. It’s more of a defensive card, healing the team’s HP by 30% and allows them to take 20% from the Wood element for 3 turns.

So is this Festival Friend worth going for? Definitely, considering she is a strong Friend, and assuming the player has recovered from Genic Genesis and the surprise Witch of Swimsuit Dreams, or even better, gets the blessing they wanted from 60 God Crystals via the Ascending Step-UP, going up to 460 God Crystals on Step 5, going up by 100 each step! At the moment, A6 Tenshi does definitely appear to be on the strong side of Festival Friends, and if you have 750 Seal Crystals, this will be worth it…although we are only weeks away from the beginning of the year 2024, and we are also less than a week away from the next Dev Letter, which is sure to save some Happy Christmas News! On top of that, some might remember how Last Year released 2 new Epic Friends in the form of C3 Koishi and C3 Satori, surprising everyone, so who knows what might be announced as we enter 2024, but one might still use this week to save up regardless, and understandably so. But back to the present, if you are a huge Tenshi fan, have the Seal Crystals and/or you want/need someone like her to help you in the game, the Eldest Daughter and her Water Web of Heaven and Earth will not disappoint!

So for those who wish to get that Heavenly blessing in the form of this Celestial, best of luck to those who wish to go forth, and may that blessing arrive!

Quick Overview

A6 Tenshi Hinanawi is an Attack-Class Friend with the heavenly gifts of a strong Killer range, great Hard Scaling, Freeze anomaly inflicting and breaking and solid self-sufficiency.

Killer Catastrophe in Bhava-Agra ~ Wonderful Power

A6 Tenshi is what one would expect from an Attack-Class Friend. Her Killer range is impressive with Gensokyo Killer as the highlighted Killer, her CRIT ATK buffs are vast with some extending to the party a 33% increase in bullet line power if said bullet line(s) can connect with any target’s weaknesses, great Hard Scaling supported by Yin DEF buffs, and some Yin DEF and CRIT DEF debuffs to soften up enemies for them to be dealt more damage. A6 Tenshi will not disappoint when it comes to pure damage.

Ice Breaker From Above

The Water Web wielder likes her Freeze anomalies, whether it’s onto herself (adding to Yin DEF buffs above) or to enemies, which through Skill 2, Spell Card 1 Pre-ATK and various bullet lines (including the same Spell Card). While her Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK doesn’t seem impressive with just 1 Freeze anomaly in all targets, there are more in her bullet lines to back this up just before the Freeze break is triggered. This takes us to her break potential, with her Spell Card 1 and Last Word breaking Freeze enemies of all enemies at 3P, while her Focus Shot doing the same to a single enemy at 2P. With Skill 2 inflicting 3 layers of Freeze on all enemies, Spell Card 1’s Pre-ATK adding 1 layer to that, and 2 bullet lines inflicting Freeze on all enemies before the break is triggered, 6 Freeze anomaly breaks are possible assuming A6 Tenshi is at 3P when it comes to Spell Card 1.

Selfish Self-Sufficient Celestial

Looking at her kit, A6 Tenshi is more than capable of fending for herself, whether it’s from the vast buffs in Yin DEF and CRIT ATK, or the Spirit Power increases from her Skill 3 and both Spell Card Post-ATKs. With the Spirit Power buffs in question going hand in hand with her Yin ATK buffs when Boosting, A6 Tenshi will have no issues recharging, and she also doesn’t struggle with Accuracy buffs as Skill 3 covers that for her.

Elemental Disarray

If elements become an important factor whether it be for breaking, or for effective damage, her elemental distribution may be awkward to work with. Her Spell Cards primarily consist of Earth and Water (the latters is scattered in other attacks), Fire and Wood appear in her Spread and Focus Shots respectively and her Last Word is primarily Metal. This could be a potentially awkward factor, or no big deal depending on if A6 Tenshi is powerful enough to overcome that situation.

Limited Yin ATK Buffs

Barring the Yin ATK gained from Boosting as well as the Yin DEF buffs achieved through means such as Spell Card 2 Pre-ATK, A6 Tenshi sadly struggles with keeping her Yin ATK intact. Without Story Cards or external support, she has a bit of a difficult time with keeping up her Yin ATK, although her handy Spirit Power gain makes her likely to boost more often, thus buffing Yin ATK more at least for that turn.
